Review (Comedy Central) - Series Thread
Review is a half-hour comedy starring Andy Daly ("Eastbound & Down") as critic Forrest MacNeil, who does not review boring things like films, food or art. Instead, Forrest reviews the most intense experiences of life itself -- by living them.
From the dangers of drug addiction to the joys of sleeping with a celebrity, Forrest reviews anything his TV audience throws at him. He fully commits to showing us what life experiences feel like, sometimes at the expense of his family and humanity in general.
The five-star cast includes Jessica St. Clair as Forrest's wife, Suzanne; Fred Willard as his father-in-law, Jack; and James Urbaniak as his producer Grant. Guest stars include Andy Richter, Ashley Tisdale, Jason Mantzoukas, Rich Fulcher, Emo Phillips, Andy Blitz and Maria Thayer.

Anyone else watching this? It's only been one episode, but I already think this is the funniest new show of the season. (Well, after Brooklyn Nine-Nine.) Maybe it's just my twisted sense of humor. I've long been a fan of Andy Daly, through EB&D and his podcast appearances, and it's great that he finally got a show of his own.
This was originally an Australian show, now adapted for the US. I may have to seek out the originals.
The first episode - where he reviews stealing, addiction, and going to the prom - is streaming for free right now here:

It was okay, especially by the current standards of Comedy Central. Their philosophy appears to be throw anything they can get on the air and see what sticks.

Hasn't that pretty much always been their philosophy? I'm surprised that lately a lot of their shows are getting second season and beyond pick ups. For years they've been notorious for putting out an endless string of one and done shows.

Didn't really care for it.

The part I thought was pretty funny was when at the prom he stole the wallet of the guy he knew from high school to buy cocaine, then the chanting in the bathroom "Peer pressure!" and "It works!" The first half of the show almost made me not see the second half though, which would have been a shame because it was the much better half.

I would like this more if the reviews were "real" and by real I mean the other people aren't aware of what he is doing.
No fake family, feels more like a sitcom to me.

I love how there's an ongoing "storyline" behind the reviews, and how his wife is somehow completely unaware of what he does for a living.

Just came here to post the same thought. The show gets better the longer you stick with it. The courthouse meeting and the wife's attorney going through his recent antics was pretty funny...all while he sat there in a Batman costume drenched in not his own urine.

Finally caught up on all of the previous episodes, after having seen the Sex with a Celebrity episode first.
Love this show... definitely have to add it to the DVR.

Is anybody but me still watching? I thought this episode was classic.
Pretty obvious what was going to happen to Fred Willard, but the payoff was still hilarious.

Wtf- the season finale doesn't have any repeats? I can watch it online but that looks crappy compared to my cable broadcast.

While some of the segments were hit or miss, overall I really liked this season. I stand by my assessment in my original post and think it's the second funniest new show of the season.
And thankfully it's been renewed for a second season:

Good to hear about the renewal. Seems like CC has been killing a lot of shows I start to like lately (such as the latest casualty The Burn with Jeff Ross).
