Transformers 20th Anniversary Oddity
I just got the 20th anniversary edition of Transformers the movie and found something pretty odd. At about 56 minutes into it, there is a scene where Galvatron is trying to get the matrix of leadership from Ultra Magnus. Just as the decepticons are shooting him, the subtitles come on. Just to make sure, I checked that I had the subtitles off. I did. I turned on each language of subtitle and they both worked properly. I turned the subtitles back off. The same thing happened as before. But this time, it was a different language of subtitle. I put in the open matte version and the subtitle issue didn't occur.
Does anyone here have this edition of the Transformers movie and have this problem?

Maybe it's just my player, then. It's not a big deal. Like I said, the open matte version can be zoomed and has better color anyway.

Any idea why it's doing it? Like I said, it's not that big of a deal as I can always use the open matte version and zoom it.

Re: Transformers 20th Anniversary Oddity
I'm watching the movie again right now, on a different player, and the subtitle problem is still there. Though, this time, it started a few minutes later into the movie. I checked and the subtitles are indeed off. Maybe the movie just doesn't like Magnavox players or something. Because this second player is a magnavox like the first player I tried to watch the movie on. I didn't check before, but this time, I've noticed that the subtitles turn back off after a few minutes. Like I said before, I can always watch the full screen version and zoom it since it's open matte.

This was a fine, fine, fine, fine film. One of the greatest achievements in all cinema.
Orson Welles went out on top, as the voice of a talking planet--his finest work.
