'Bates Motel' Season 2 premiere gets live after-show special

Might as well start a new thread and not keep reusing the S1 thread. And now for news:

http://www.comingsoon.net/news/tvnews.php?id=115257

A&E Network today announced "Bates Motel: After Hours," a live half-hour special event bringing the "Bates Motel" community to life as fans interact with the show's stars and creators sharing behind-the-scenes analysis and exclusive content.

Series stars Vera Farmiga (Norma Bates), Freddie Highmore (Norman Bates), Max Thieriot (Dylan Massett) and executive producers Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin share their insights into the first episode and answer fan questions about the upcoming season of "Bates Motel."

"Bates Motel: After Hours" will be broadcast in front of a live studio audience in New York on Monday, March 3 at 11PM ET/PT immediately following the series premiere of "Those Who Kill" at 10PM ET/PT and the season two premiere of "Bates Motel" at 9PM ET/PT.

"Bates Motel" is a contemporary prequel to the genre-defining film Psycho, and gives viewers an intimate portrayal of how Norman Bates' (Freddie Highmore) psyche unravels through his teenage years. Fans discover the dark, twisted backstory of Norman Bates and how deeply intricate his relationship with his mother, Norma (Vera Farmiga), truly is.

The season one premiere of "Bates Motel" garnered 3 million total viewers and 1.6 million adults 25-54 and 18-49, making it the most-watched original drama in the key demos in the network's history.

"Bates Motel: After Hours" is produced for A&E by Embassy Row. Michael Davies serves executive producer.

The "Bates Motel" series is produced by Universal Television for A&E Network. Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin serve as executive producers for Carlton Cuse Productions and Kerry Ehrin Productions respectively.

Are you sure? Other short-run series like "Longmire" tend to have one thread.

The threads from last year all seemed somewhat active though, plus it's a ten episode season so it's no different than a lot of shows that air on other basic cable or premium networks.

Anyways looking forward to this returning a lot. I really was surprised by how good the first season was. Might have to marathon the first season again before the new season starts.

The Bates Motel threads last year were pretty active since the show is pretty serialized. I should know I did all 10 threads last year.

Longmire was a different story since it's a procedural crime drama and very rarely was there anything big to talk about.

I'm glad I still have an east coast feed of A&E. I can't record this show, but at least I can get Bates Motel and Those Who Kill. I need more than 2 freaking tuners. Mondays are a nightmare.

I guess it'll be nice to see Chris Hardwick on yet another network. I mean he is the host right? I'm still amazed he didn't get the Wolf Watch job on MTV.

I really like Bates. Like Hannibal, there's no reason the show should be so good. That being said, I have negative interest in a post show show. This trend sucks.

Re: 'Bates Motel' Season 2 premiere gets live after-show special

EW has confirmed that the return of A&E’s hit series Bates Motel will be followed by the addition of a live aftershow, Bates Motel: After Hours, where fans can interact with the show’s stars and creators. We’ve also learned exclusively that Carrie Keagan, formerly of VH1, has signed on to host the aftershow. Keagan previously served as host and producer of Big Morning Buzz Live With Carrie Keagan.

The first episode of the half-hour aftershow will feature executive producers Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin, as well as actors Vera Farmiga, Freddie Highmore, and Max Thieriot. After Hours will premiere Monday, March 3, at 11 p.m. on A&E, directly after Those Who Kill at 10 p.m. and Bates Motel, which airs at 9 p.m.

I'm curious how many seasons this can realistically go

Well they only do ten episode seasons so it's not like it's going to be stretched out too badly even if it's on for a few more seasons at least. I could see this show going at least five or six seasons.
