Audiobook recommendations?
Does anyone have any good audiobook recommendations? I've got four audible credits that I need to use, and I'm looking for something good.
A few years ago, I finished:
Under the Dome - Stephen King. Loved it.
David Cross - I Drink for a Reason. Hilarious, and narrated by the author.
Semi-recently, I've gone through:
The Friedkin Connection - William Friedkin. Really good stuff about his experiences making movies, and I recommend it.
Dark Tower I, II, and III - Stephen King. I'm on IV now, but need a break.

Lonesome Dove -Larry McMurtry
The Virginian - Owen Wister- read by Gene Engene
I have been working my way through the James Bond Series
How about the Game of Thrones series
The Godfather
Sookie Stackhouse Series (True Blood)
The Mist of Avalon- the entire series for one credit
The Jack Reacher series by Lee Child
The Mitch Rapp Series by Vince Flynn
Outlander Series - Diana Gabaldon - may be too romancy, but it does have time travel and a few wars
Or you could just send the credits to me, seems I never have enough.
Post what you decide, it might be something I want to listen to , good luck.

If you want to get maximum bang for your credits, get the unabridged version of Atlas Shrugged. I downloaded it from the Navy Lending Library and burned them to MP3 CDs to enjoy in the car. I think I ended up with 9 of them. Even with my 1h30m daily round-trip it took me all summer and several weeks into the fall to listen to all of it.
I would second Diva's Game of Thrones recommendation, though having read and watched the TV series, I can tell you that having a visual image really helps when it comes to keeping all of the characters separated in your mind while reading/listening.... even if HBO abidged the story and made several changes. If you've seen any of the HBO series, then I imaging that the books would be a lot easier to enjoy if only because you're already familiar with the characters, locales, and major themes.

Although anything from Naxos is sadly pricy as hell, David Timson's rendition of the whole Sherlock Holmes canon is simply superb. And if you haven't read Harry Potter yet, Jim Dale's renditions are really wonderful.
