Banshee - "The Truth About Unicorns" - 2/7/14

Lucas (Antony Starr) considers moving on after he and Carrie (Ivana Milicevic) take a detour on their drive back to Banshee. Agent Racine (Zeljko Ivanek) recalls the botched case against Rabbit (Ben Cross) that has haunted him for years.

Horrible episode. So little happened, and the editing was annoying as hell.

Really hated the directing choices in this episode. First episode I FF parts of.

This episode felt like they had Terrence Malick guest direct or something. A very strange change in tone for this show.

But at least they have toned down that damned hashtag so it's a little less distracting.

Loved it. A perfect a change of pace episode and it was needed for the series to better frame the love and back story.

This. It really felt, to me, like the set up for the final arc of this season. I wasn't too crazy about the editing but I thought the music and the sniper scene was pretty cool. I would've preferred some Proctor or Lili Simmons in there but I'm cool with it. Even the not so awesome episodes of this show are better than most of whats on television.

I thought this really showed how much he loved Ana and was willing to walk away so she could be happy. And then the attack solidified his reasons for staying so he could protect her and Dava.

I liked it...it was very different in tone than the series so far but it added some depth to the two most important characters.

I thought the editing was cool actually, just melding the dreams they want with the reality of the way they act

It was easily the best photographed episode of the show, of most shows actually.

This played like a long form music video.I was underwhelmed, but love this show too much to be bothered by a change of pace episode. Let's hope the creators got the art film pretentions out of their systems and gets back to nude Amish/chin- splitting basics.

I liked it for what it was. I agree that it felt like someone really wanted to make an artsy type episode, but in the context of their relationship it worked. The cornfield scene was really well done too.

On another note, was I the only one who kinda felt bad for Hood when he burned the house he hoped to disappear to?

This was a cool episode. The music reminded me of 80's sci-fi flicks like Blade Runner. I liked how everything was bright and cheery, but when they got back to Banshee it seemed gloomy outside. That sniper scene was pretty badass.

Re: Banshee - "The Truth About Unicorns" - 2/7/14

So every show needs to have a "Fly" episode from now on?

I actually liked it quite a bit though. A nice departure. Maybe they experimented to try something new or maybe they needed to keep the season's budget in check and had to scale back. I liked the editing -- it was hard to follow at first, but soon realized we were seeing what Hood wanted to happen vs what actually happened.
