"How Your Mother Met Me" - On the 200th episode, The Mother recounts how she met Ted and what she's been up to for the past eight years, on the final season of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, Monday, Jan. 27 (8:00-8:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Rachel Bilson returns as Cindy.

Fantastic episode. Love how they wove the Mother's backstory in with Ted's stories. Lots of callbacks.

Really felt the whiplash as the episode moved back and forth from funny moment to heartfelt moment so quickly. This probably should have been an hour long. For my money, they definitely could have spent more time on Bilson and Miloti kissing. Beautiful sky blue coat the Mother was wearing at college.
Super sweet with the song at the end.
Never noticed the laugh track more than in this epsiode.

Yeah, this episode could have easily been a 2-parter. Although the danger of expanding it is they might have been tempted to tie the mother into other pivotal moments in the show, instead of just the ones that were previously mentioned (the classroom, bilson's roommate). The use of The Naked Man was brilliant.
The only thing I don't really like about it is that Ted's basically a lucky shit. He goes through woman after woman, spending the last 8 years looking for the one, while she spent most of the time mourning her first love. Then, one day before the wedding (and Ted moves to Chicago) she breaks up with the only other guy she's been with?
Ted spends 8 years mostly mopey because none of the ~100 attractive women that he dated and/or slept with was "the one." She spends 8 years mopey because someone died. Hell, Ted technically already hooked up at this wedding...or tried to. Man, fuck Ted!
And let's not forget he's telling this story to his kids. It's like that video from Comic-Con. Ted the man-whore, the mother is nearly a virgin. Again, fuck Ted!

Ted has basically been a douche from the beginning. I've loved the series in spite of him. And I agree, mom had the far more respectable/heartwarming story.

Yeah, really liked this one. Very clever callbacks to so many things. I'm only a part-time watcher and didn't get everything, but did recognize a lot of stuff and was pretty damn impressed.
Did we already know the backstory about the Mother losing her first true love? I wasn't aware of that before.
I said it before and I'll say it again : They hit such a home run with the casting of Miloti. Hope she get a lead in a new series out of this stint - she sure as hell has earned one.

This ep was a bit of a dud for me.
I just wasn't feeling the emotion that I guess I was supposed to get finding out her true love died.
I think it's mostly because I don't like the casting of the mother.
She doesn't hit it for me.
Maybe it's something dumb that bugs me about her. Could be that she doesn't have one but two snaggleteeth. I don't know, it just just isn't working for me.
Surprised no one mentioned the friend yet.
