Yeah, those make perfect sense (except maybe Spike Jonze who is building some momentum right now). Figure three of those guys won't get Oscar nominations, based on last year's nominations.

Alexander Payne or Coen Brothers might take one of those spots for the Oscar nominations.

I think that actually Scorsese will be the one of those five to miss the cut when the Oscar nominations come out.

I liked Wolf but I wasn't surprised by Marty's direction in it. I'd be fine with him boy getting an Oscar but would gladly welcome him in getting one cuz he's like what? 3 overdue?

nice and predictable. Would be nice if the Oscars, Golden Globes and these guys would though us a curveball every once in a while. How about Richard Linklater for Best Director for Before Midnight. A nomination for that guy is long overdue.

I think Alfonso is a lock for this award. Although if I had a vote, it would to toward Marty.
