Blended (2014, Coraci) S: Sandler, Barrymore
The third rom-com teaming Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore is coming to a multiplex near you for Memorial Day. Blended tells the tale of two single-parent survivors of a particularly heinous blind date who happen to sign their kids up for the same African safari vacation — and end up sharing a suite for a week. The Warner Bros pic also stars Joel McHale, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Kevin Nealon and Terry Crews. Bella Thorne, Emma Fuhrmann, Alyvia Alyn Lynd, Kyle Red Silverstein and Braxton Beckham play the kids. Frank Coraci directed from a screenplay by Ivan Menchell & Clare Sera. The Gulfstream Pictures/Happy Madison film is produced by Mike Karz, Sandler and Jack Giarraputo, with Barry Bernardi, Josie Rosen, Tim Herlihy, Allen Covert and Steven Koren serving as executive producers. This looks terrible. Knowing the best parts are in the trailer, which is the tactic they use now a days, I don't see how this will attract audiences. I saw the trailer right before Anchorman 2 and nobody laughed at the trailer. Sandler is really losing it. This is bad.

I get the vibe Adam Sandler just wanted to take his family and a bunch of friends to visit Africa, so he pitches this movie to get a free trip for everyone from the studio.

I was actually looking forward to this one, mostly due to him being re-paired with Barrymore, but I'll be damned if that trailer isn't defiantly unfunny.
I've been a defender of Sandler for a while, but his last few films have made it near impossible to keep doing so.

Okay, so That's My Boy and Jack & Jill were absolute pieces of crap, but I still really like Adam Sandler. And I have been in love with Drew Barrymore for years.
So even though I think there are way too many kids in this movie, I'm still interested

It's hard for me to begrudge Adam Sandler after watching my young nephew and a friend watching Grownups and laughing hysterically, having a great time. Sandler's movies aren't to my taste, but if kids find them funny, good for him.
What I wish is Sandler would produce another comedy album. Now those were great. The Talking Goat remains the funniest/saddest/bizarro thing I've ever listened to.

Adam Sandler is at the point where he makes shit movies. However I really like the first to pairing with Barrymore so what the hell, I'll probably see it at some point.

That might be the toughest 2 1/2 minutes I have ever had to endure.
