National Novel Writing Month - November

It's time again for NaNoWriMo, where thousands of people try to bang out a 50,000 word novel in a month. This is my first time signing up, and unfortunately, I honestly don't think that I'll come close to getting anything done with it, just based on my schedule and my lack of preparation, but I thought that I'd post a reminder since I know others have showed interest in the past as well.

Is anyone going to give it a try?

I'd love to but have done zero prep or research on my first novel.

You have day to prep!

I'm tempted to continue and finish the one I began a couple of years ago. I pathed out the storyline and fleshed out the characters, I just need to get back in and complete it. Maybe now is the time.

The wife and I are doing it. It actually working out pretty well because we normally watch TV shows, but now with both of us doing nanowrimo. We can both write and let the shows build up a little on the DVR. We also take shifts with the our son so the other can get some writing in. (I'll take my son to the park for an hour, she can write. She takes him shopping with her, so I can write etc).

I'm at about 6,500 words right now.

Wow, good for you guys. I wish I had the dedication/motivation, but I'm just not there yet. Feel free to share when you finish.

A friend of mine entered and has been on a blitz. She wrote 8,000 words in one day just a couple of days ago.

I'm averaging about 5,000 words a day over the past 7 days. Definitely a much faster pace than I ever have before.
