Somehow I don't think eli survives betraying nucky a 2nd time, if he goes forward with that.

so long purnsley, we barely knew you.

Eli is toast if he flipped.

Extremely happy that Chalky lives although I was half-expecting someone to kick down the door at the end.

I'm glad Chalky came out the victor in that confrontation. As for Dr. Narcisse ...

No way no how.

I'll miss that gold tooth.

Definitely missed Chicago this episode.

So I guess I was right in thinking William was going to work for Nucky. And while I thought Eli wouldn't like that idea - it's going to be a bigger problem since he has to sell out Nucky and doesn't want his son getting mixed up in it.

I would have loved to see Micky shove that cane down Nucky's scrawny fucking throat. Either that or just shoot him in the face.

Fuck yes, that was great. What a fucktard Mickey is. How he isn't dead yet is beyond me.

He's Boardwalk Empire's version of EB Farnum. And Nucky is the biggest douche on the show.

I loved Chalky going to Narcisse with the Heroin. Hopefully his hold over Daughter has been released.
She seemed to want to help Chalky

I don't recall EB being a douche. Just got my Deadwood BD set, so I'll be re-watching it. Maybe I'm mis-remembering.

Micky is the 1920's version of today's street gangster. Instead of acting all "Yo, you disrespected me" he is "See, this fella here has a lot to learn... ehhhehhaaa" that was the style of the day, probably intimidating to people, and attractive to those kind of women who want a 'bad boy'.

I must admit that I didn't like him at first, but I see the purpose for his character (he runs a warehouse), and he is a good actor (to have everyone think he is a douche).

Don't get me wrong, I think the actor does a great job. I appreciate mickey's role also, there are always those 2nd tier guys that are just smart enough to read the wind and pick the right side to keep them alive. He's still a douche after all that..

Re: Boardwalk Empire -- "The Old Ship of Zion" -- 10/27/13

Episode was fine, but it seems like this show has way too many balls in the air and is getting spread real thin. This episode we had NO Chicago, nothing with Richard, nothing with Gillian, nothing with the NY mob guys. They seem to be biting off way too many characters and storylines that don't connect, and it's kinda getting messy.

it's always run multiple storylines though, that usually connect in the final couple of episodes.

I ask myself the same question at least four times a season.

Not nearly as many as this season has. And with just a handful of episodes left, I don't see how they're going to connect a lot of them. Not that they have to, it just makes the show too scattered.
