I just caught up on the last two episodes and I loved them, especially the one from last week. I LOVE the doctor that is taking care of Brody as well. I've never seen him before, but I love that actor and character for some reason. I see his name is Erik Dellums and he is otherwise known for The Wire, which I have never seen before (yeah, yeah, I know). I want to see him in a lot more stuff now. As a doctor, a criminal, a serial killer, he would fit it all.
And ugh, enough with Dana running away and doing this and that. I really wish her plotline would end, one way or another.

So this was all a plan between Saul and Carrie and the bank where the money was laundered just happens to be in the same city that Brody is in
If Dana's boyfriend murders her this show will be saved.

haha someone posted this in the reddit thread for the episode.

Hey, I can live with hard-to-accept coincidences if it brings the show back to something interesting. That Carrie and Saul were in some sort of a long-con to ensnare the Iranians is enough to restore some of my faith in the show.
Oh yeah, I noticed that they just did what so many TV dramas make the mistake of doing : putting the least liked female character in mortal danger and still expecting the audience to be emotionally invested in her well-being. I don't give a fuck if Dana gets murdered horribly; in fact I'm sort of rooting for it.

This episode restored a lot of my faith in the show. I found it totally riveting.
There's a long way to go, but I'm actually optimistic that this season will be a lot closer to the quality of season 1 than season 2. We'll just have to see.
I just kind of tune out the Dana scenes, because I'm not sure if I'm more annoyed with her character or the people complaining about her week after week after week.
There sure seem to be making Saul quite the prick for putting Carrie through all of this.
I didn't see the that this whole Carrie thing was a set-up, but the producers were talking about how they wanted to make the audience feel like Carrie would be so vulnerable that she would have really considered switching sides. While it in no way detracted for my enjoyment of the episode, I never believed Carrie would work for the other side. It would take a lot of balls to make Carrie into "the bad guy" and I'm actually not sure that I'd want that to happen.

I didn't want to seem dense, but I wasn't sure why the Venezuelans were holding Brody prisoner last episode, and how they seemed to have some knowledge of Carrie. Sort of makes sense now if they're tied to the bankers and are looking to recruit Carrie.

What a twist!
Actually, I'm sort of glad that it's finally coming together, or at least seeing whatever big picture they were going for. I was not a fan of the directionless nature that this season seemed to be going, and I'm not sure it's all entirely tying up fine, with all those giant coincidences, but at least it's going somewhere now.

I didn't really care for the reveal at the end that it was all part of a devised plan between Carrie and Saul. Seemed like a cheap twist to have them seemingly patch things up offscreen.

I kinda figured the twist when she agreed, but to that point I did not see it coming. Still hazy though on how the lawyers were going to protect her from the DOJ. A local judge wouldn't be able to prevent the CIA from doing all the things the lawyer mentioned anyway. But she agrees and is suddenly safe to walk the streets again? Maybe I am missing something. Timing of events for their plan seemed impossibly convenient.

so saul set this up with carrie months earlier, but why was she annoyed at saul in the mental hospital, wasn't it part of the script, wasnt it part of the script going off her meds and then back on.
I was a little confused with the setup.
Am pleased that Saul and Carrie are back on the same side tho, thats one of the still great things in this show.

I now see it as "Fuck You Saul" for putting me through this and not for screwing me over like viewers thought was happening.

I'm guessing that if was all part of a long con, set up between the seasons, that all of this was an elaborate set-up to draw the Iranians to Carrie. She never 'broke' character because she didn't know when she was or wasn't being watched.

The Fuck You Saul was because she was just supposed to be discredited and slandered. But instead Saul also went the extra mile and had her committed. And instead of letting her family pick her up, he kept her in there.

She brought it on herself to some degree. And I think Saul knows the only way it would be convincing would be for her to actually believe it was happening. And that only happens if she is at rock bottom.

My god! The scenes with Brody's family can eat a bag of dicks. Even if they're going somewhere with that bullshit, there's no way it will be worth suffering through it.

Caught up with the last 2 episodes tonight.
Great twist. Did not see that coming. If anyone said they saw that whole thing coming, they are so full of shit.
That was a new definition for taking one for the team to have Carrie suffer with the medication and treatment along with the public humiliation to get the attention of that group.
Why does Martin Donovan always end up playing some kind of slimy figure?
at Virgil's code to Carrie on the phone.
It was good to see at the end that her relationship with Saul was still intact. They have a very father-daughter type bond.
