Boardwalk Empire -- "William Wilson" -- 10/20/13

Synopsis:

Eli confronts Nucky after Willie makes an unpopular decision. Margaret has a surprise encounter at her job on Wall Street. Joe Masseria orders Lucky Luciano to return to Tampa and deal with Vincenzo Petrucelli. Gillian goes cold turkey with Roy Phillips' (Ron Livingston) help. Still seething over his brother's death, Al Capone (Stephen Graham) tries to get Johnny Torrio (Greg Antonacci) to turn on rival gangster Dean O'Banion (Arron Shiver). As the relationship between Chalky and Daughter Maitland deepens, Valentin Narcisse (Jeffrey Wright) exerts his control over Dunn Purnsley (Erik LaRay Harvey) and the Northside.

Written by David Matthews and Terence Winter; directed by Jeremy Podeswa

Another solid episode. I actually like all the different plot lines and the lack of a single "big bad". Enjoyed the little bit with Margaret as well.

Great show but they need to end the Gillian story line this season.

It was like a reunion show last night with all the cameos.

Amazing body on Ms. Maitland.

I am a little disappointed that Chalky can't see the honeypot. Killing the Deacon will hopefully come back.

I loved seeing Rothstein. I wonder what his angle is here, as he seems smarter than that. And he's using a fake name too.

Well to be fair, he wouldn't exactly be the first guy blinded by a hot naked chick.

Surprised that as suspicious as Eli is of knox (and how he convinced nucky to be suspicious also), he still considers gaston means to be 100% reliable. Can't trust anyone.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rothstein was planning on blackmailing Margaret's boss for his pyramid scheme but now he knows that he can blackmail her for insider information.

That caught me by surprise and I also loved it. It felt like a character cross-over to another show. "I know you, but what are you doing here?"

Maybe, but was he buying real estate in Florida by any chance?

Episode 7 already this season is going by fast. Maybe they should have made 16 or 18 episodes with all the different storylines.

Re: Boardwalk Empire -- "William Wilson" -- 10/20/13

Is there a thread for the Oct. 27 ep? I did a search and didn't find it.

Not that it really matters since my question is about this episode, I just figured I would bring it up in the most recent thread.

Early on in the show Nucky told Margaret a story about having a son who died as an infant and his wife had a breakdown and kept treating it like a life baby for a week or so without Nucky noticing.

Then in this episode Eli said that Nucky's wife had died in childbirth. Was Nucky lying to Margaret, or did Nucky stick with his crazy wife and try for another kid and giving birth to that one killed her? It just seems like the kind of thing he would have mentioned to Margaret: "Our first child died, the second one killed my wife in delivery."
