I predict that Nirvana will be inducted and Kiss will be snubbed for the 88th time.

Nirvana is a lock.
I think Peter Gabriel will probably get in; critics went apeshit over his solo stuff back in 80s.
Love to see Deep Purple get the nod, but I doubt they will.

Rooting for Hall& Oates,NWA and Link Wray.

I have a feeling one of Nirvana/Kiss get's in and the other is held over to headline the next year since they need to put a** in seats and no one else on that list does that besides these 2.

This

Would like to see
Deep Purple
Cat Stevens

Does it really matter though. This 'award' has had little meaning the past 20yrs
It's almost as much a joke as getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

If Nirvana gets in, I wonder if Dave will sing a Nirvana song. Something that I don't think he's ever done.

Looking forward to the sane heated arguments in this thread we've been arguing for years!

He was gonna do a Nirvana song with Krist with PJ Harvey singing vocals for something not that long ago...

For true historical value, Link Wray really should be in there, but I'd be surprised if he made it.

The five on that list who are most deserving, IMHO:

Yes
Peter Gabriel
Linda Ronstadt
Deep Purple
Cat Stevens

By the way, The Replacements? I like the Replacements. They were my college years. But Hall of Fame? Meh. Nirvana made less music than them and I'd still take them over The Replacements. (And I wouldn't put Nirvana in yet either.)

Yes
Peter Gabriel
NWA
Hall & Oates (wild card)

If they elect Cat Stevens they might as well elect Bashar Al Asaad and any other terrorists as well.

Me too. Not because I particularly dislike KISS, but because it's fun to watch people go apeshit in this forum every year.

I will go apeshit if The Paul Butterfield Blues Band gets snubbed.

Out of that group, my 5 personal favorites are:

Deep Purple
KISS
Hall & Oates
Nirvana
Yes

...but I'd be hip with The Replacements, Paul Butterfield, Chic, Cat Stevens, or The Zombies.

Expect NWA or Chic to get the token negro nod. Chic deserves it more than NWA. LL Cool J? Umm no.

Seriously? Laughable to nominate the Replacements? They're just a "meh" 80's college band that you "like"? Perhaps your opinion, but there are many, many people who disagree.

Nirvana never got close to making an album as good as Let it Be or Tim and "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is thin gruel compared to "Unsatisfied" or "Bastards of Young".

They're never going to get in, of course.

Also:
Yes
Deep Purple
The Meters
Hall & Oates

As lame as Smells Like Teen Spirit is at least Kurt Cobain never wrote anything god awful like Imagine.

I always find it really funny that most of the bands that get nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame aren't rock and roll...or even rock. Cat Stevens is Rock ? I know for a fact that LL Cool J isn't rock. Linda Rondstadt...really ? Is there really anyone that thinks NWA is rock in any way, shape, or form ?
