Quick question about DTS 6.1

I noticed that Gladiator will have both DD 5.1 & DTS 6.1 on the DVD. Question is, should I listen to it in DD or DTS? I have a DTS receiver but I don't have 6.1 ability. If I listen to DTS, what will happen to the rear center sound?

DTS-ES Discrete is a fully backward compatible format. If you don't have 6.1 capable equipment, the surround back channel will be matrixed back into the left and right rears. I would imagine that like always, the DTS 5.1 will sound better than the DD 5.1 even without it.

Actually, on a non-ES DTS decoder, the added stream of data (rear center) will be ignored and will not be merged into the left and right rear.

Does this mean that I would loose some audio? In other words, is there certain audio that is being sent to the rear center that that would be dropped and not picked up by another speaker? If this is the case, then would DD 5.1 be the way to go?

Why don't you just listen to the both of them, and draw your own conclusions?
When the disc arrives, that is...
I suppose I'll watch it in DTS, myself with or without a rear centre.
BTW, it's true that you're missing audio without a rear centre, but there's only 1 way to solve that, and it involves spending money
