If you can get it at that price, even if it's on backorder, I highly recommend getting it at that pricetag. Solid set and a hell of a bargain to boot and they're good to deal with, having done business with them quite a few times.

Yes, it seems I'm always too late with deals like these. But $38 is still terrific.

I'm checking the prices on Amazon right now. The Ultimate Collection is $59.27. The eight volumes, plus the Rare Treasures bonus discs, add up to $116.54 when bought individually. You can also buy Volumes 1 through 8 for $69.99, or Volumes 1 through 5 for, insanely, $99.95.

$38 for the eight volumes and bonus discs... it works out to just over four bucks per volume. It's not $29, but I can't complain.

I paid so much for this. All volumes as new releases, bought the box and bonus discs off a guy who didn't want them on another forum. I don't regret it though and I'd re-buy it on Blu-ray, though I'd hope they'd release them all at once on Blu. But this pricing doesn't surprise me, this is essentially a clearance item. They tried moving these with big display shippers at Wal-Mart and I remember seeing them and it was like nobody had touched them. This is that same stock thrown in a box with bonus discs and it wouldn't surprise me to see it at $20 eventually.

Quick update on prices. I bought mine on eBay a few days ago for $37.44 with free shipping, but the same seller just raised the price to $53.13. The current lowest Buy It Now is $47.95 with free shipping.

Current FamilyVideo.com price is $59.99. Amazon is at $57.99. Cheapest Amazon Marketplace is $49.68.

All prices are for Brand New condition, if there's any doubt.
