Top Chef Masters -- Season 5 Thread
Bravo's "Top Chef Masters" returns for a fifth season with 13 new award-winning chefs ready to compete for bragging rights, the title of 'Top Chef Master' and $100,000 for their charity, premiering Wednesday, July 24 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. In a new twist this season, each Master will have his or her sous chef compete in an online competition, "Battle of the Sous Chefs," hosted by Hugh Acheson and presented by Lexus. The results of each online episode directly impacts the Masters, awarding them advantages, such as immunity (the winner of each battle earns the Top Chef Master immunity), and sometimes, disadvantages, depending on their sous chef's performance (the chefs who perform the worst always earn obstacles for their Top Chef Master). Every episode of "Battle of the Sous Chefs" leads up to the next episode of "Top Chef Masters," and explores the uniquely interdependent relationship between a Master chef and his or her sous chef.

Curtis Stone is back as host. Gail Simmons is head judge.
Fully expecting crickets from this thread. From those who either don't care about the Masters and don't have the time to watch another damn cooking show.

I wouldn't have known this was on but the USPA (United States Parachute Association) put a notice out on Facebook this afternoon since apparently there is skydiving involved

I dig all of the top chefs, and one of Denver's best is competing, so I'll watch. I guess I'll have to pay per episode to stream from amazon, though, as I don't have cable.

Good season so far but I've gotten spoiled by Masterchef UK: The Professionals on BBCA. It's so far superior to any of the shows from the US.
