Vince Flynn dies at 47
This is sad - I was a fan before I even knew he lived in Minnesota. I always meant to meet him but never got around to it. And I've read and enjoyed all of the Mitch Rapp books. 47 is way too young.
Vince Flynn, the New York Times best-selling author of 14 thrillers and mysteries, has died of prostate cancer. He was 47.
Flynn was born in St. Paul and graduated from St. Paul Academy and the University of St. Thomas. He served in the Marine Corps and later, while working as a bartender in St. Paul, he began writing in order to help overcome his dyslexia.
He self-published his first book, "Term Limits," which was later picked up by Pocket Books. It was the only book that didn't feature his popular Mitch Rapp character.
Flynn revealed to fans in January 2011 on his website (www.vinceflynn.com) that he was battling cancer.

I didn't know he was doing that poorly. I thought that things may have been getting better for him because I remember hearing he wrote one of his books while battling cancer. This is such a shame. Rest In Peace Vince Flynn.

Yeah, his latest novel The Survivor was due for release in October. Sounds like his publisher doesn't know how much of it was completed prior to his death.
