Highly billed parts that are merely glorified cameos

i swear this topic has been done before but i couldn't find any. I'd say 'highly billed' as first 3 or 4 names (or if their on the poster)
Ones that come to mind
Sean Penn Tree of Life (maybe 5 minutes if that)
Keifer Sutherland Taking Lives (only appears at the end)
most of the cast of Jay & Silent Bob strike Back
George Clooney The Thin Red Line (litterally the end of the movie)

what are some others

Chang Chen in The Grandmaster. He gets third billing yet he only has three minor scenes and his character doesn't even come into the main story at all.

Marlon Brando gets TOP billing in Superman: The Movie (Chris Reeve is actually third, after Gene Hackman).

Yeah, that one was deceptive but useful. I remember going into that movie on opening night, expecting Barrymore to be the star. Then she got killed in the first scene. It cut to Neve Campbell, and I assumed it would spend the movie killing off B-list actors repeatedly.

Before editing began, I believe they each had about 350 minutes of screen time.

Re: Highly billed parts that are merely glorified cameos

Most DTV movies plaster the stars with top billing and on the cover, when most of the time they have a small part or cameo.

I think Hurt's part in AHOV is more than a cameo - it's certainly important to the movie.

Totally correct, and completely well-done. It's a shame now that every knows Neve Campbell is the main star of the Scream series. I saw the original when it was still in theaters, and was led to believe (via the previews) that Barrymore was the star of the movie. It made the opening scene all the more shocking.

Too bad the rest of the movie didn't quite live up to that opening scene.

Good scene. Something about it makes me feel the knife when it goes in. Kind of like that scene in Saving Private Ryan.

I was only 11 when that movie came out and didn't watch it for the first time a few years later. By then I already knew that Drew Barrymore only had a bit part. It's great how they did that, very cool way to shock the audiences.

Re: Highly billed parts that are merely glorified cameos

I'm not sure whether they had top billing or not but we were led to believe Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger would have more significant roles in The Expendables.
