Synopsis:

"My Hero" - Mitch's ex-boyfriend, Teddy, a very personable and successful doctor, invites the whole family to a fundraising event at the local roller rink, and they all run circles around each other as Cam tries to play it cool around Teddy, Claire avoids talking to Jay about inheriting his closet business, Phil teaches Gloria how to skate in spectacular fashion, Haley helps Alex talk to some cute boys, and amidst all the chaos Manny and Luke try to figure out whom they'll pick in their family for their "My Hero" essay assignment, on "Modern Family," WEDNESDAY, MAY 8 (9:00-9:31 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

I enjoyed this episode but Cam's jealousy got too much attention. His antics are funny but his demands for Mitch to have the family get rid of the ex were ridiculous and just downright bitchy. Made him very unlikeable. At least they sort of fixed it with Jay's conversation with Cam.

Loved the other stories and found the interaction between Alex and Haley to be very sweet.

Much better than last week. I though Rico Rodriguez was particulary good in this episode.

I especially liked his "You know who's NOT my hero?" comment after getting a C on his paper.

That part was particularly relatable because I knew plenty of teachers (and college professors) that would have graded his report in like manner for that same reason.

I'm sorry : This has been such a down season from the previous three. This episode wasn't as devoid of laughs as most, but still the decline this season has been precipitous. It's sort of like they ran out of funny things to say and are just going through the motions or repeating themselves now.

To say she's getting better is kind of like saying the smell from the sewage plant isn't nearly as bad today as it was yesterday. They give her some decent lines but I think she's an ugly kid with an ugly delivery so haven't warmed up to her at all.

Now Ariel Winter is another story. She plays the nerd perfectly and although doesn't have the LOL lines is always good in her role. Tough to always be the butt of big sisters jokes. She is going to be one heart breaker. Good looking kid, should be a great looking woman.

Agreed about Cam. I wanted to yell at him myself for his stupidity. Seriously, there's no reason (other then TV rules) a spouse should have to put up with that. Mitchell should have yelled back at him about his jealousy.

Shame about the real life drama with her mom. I hope that doesn't screw her up.

Seemed like they were setting Claire up to go back to the stand, so I am glad they didn't follow through with that.
