Horrible Bosses 2 (2014, Anders) S: Sudeikis, Bateman, Day, Aniston, Waltz, Pine
After more than half a year of negotiations, New Line has closed deals to reunite Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis for a sequel to Horrible Bosses, the surprise hit comedy released in 2011.
Jamie Foxx is also likely to return and is negotiations to reprise his role as murder consultant Motherf---er Jones for the pic, which will see Seth Gordon back in the director's chair.
The original movie saw Bateman, Day and Sudeikis as harried workers who, in Strangers on a Train meets Nine to Five fashion, try to off one another's bosses, with mixed results. Foxx mentored -- the term is used loosely -- the trio. John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, who worked on the first movie, penned the sequel.
Colin Farrell, Jennifer Aniston and Kevin Spacey played the horrible bosses. Farrell’s character died in the movie, but Aniston's and Spacey’s did not. The sequel will have a brand new set of bosses, but there is room for Aniston and Spacey to make cameos.
The 2011 movie was made for about $35 million and grossed $117 million domestically and $209 million worldwide.
A late-summer start is being eyed for the sequel, which will be produced by Brett Ratner and Jay Stern and executve produced by John Cheng.
Bateman is coming off the success of Identity Thief, his Universal comedy with Melissa McCarthy, which has grossed over $110 million so far. He is repped by CAA, 3 Arts and Hansen Jacobson.
Day, one of the stars of TV’s It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, will next be seen next to monsters and mechas in Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim. He is repped by WME and 3 Arts.
Sudeikis, repped by CAA and Brillstein Entertainment Partners, next stars in New Line’s August comedy We’re the Millers, which also stars Aniston.

I was hoping for great things with the first and it was pretty underwhelming.
Best parts were with Farrell and the dirty Aniston (who I don't usually find appealing but looked great in this).
Could have been hilarious but ended up being rather run of the mill. Mediocre at best.

I thought the first was funny. Don't need a sequel maybe but hey, there are worse movies that have sequels I guess.

Really enjoyed the first one. Not sure what they can do with a sequel, except beat the same jokes to death, but I'm definitely interested to see whom they will bring in for the new bosses.

I liked the first one a lot but am a bit skeptical on how a sequel will be. I'll still check it out though.

This "series" didn't need a first film; easily one of the most overrated comedies of its year.

Well, it got a first film. All we can do now is hope that the new bosses are even horribler. I'm chuckling just thinking about Charlie Day getting fisted by his new boss!

I'm sure the accountants at Warner Brothers would beg to differ.

This could actually be a decent movie if it's just the same three characters from the first film for a different type of story and doesn't have to do with their bosses/jobs. Doesn't really sound like that's the direction they're going with it though. Seems like a Hangover type sequel where it's just the same movie done a different way.

I enjoyed the first quite a bit, but I'm not excited about another one.

My interest in this depends on if they do as good a job casting the Horrible Bosses as they did in the first one.

If Aniston finally goes tits out, I'm there. (So in other words, I'll be passing. She's such a cocktease)

Not to worry. Since this was initially envisioned as a quadrilogy, I'm sure all the salient plot points have been mapped out years ahead of time by the team of writers. H.R. Giger is currently designing and sculpting the bosses for the final three films.

After bringing in a $209M global hit with 2011′s comedy Horrible Bosses, Seth Gordon will not be returning to direct the sequel for New Line. Sources say scheduling conflicts are to blame, but the studio is still moving forward towards a fall shoot and they’re “actively looking for a replacement”. Gordon’s busy slate includes new ABC sitcom The Goldbergs which he executive produces. Earlier this year he scored another hit with Universal’s Melissa McCarthy comedy Identity Thief. Back in March Gordon inked a deal with Uni to direct Horrible Bosses stars Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis in One Night On The Hudson.

New Line has tapped “We’re the Millers” scribes Sean Anders and John Morris to take on “Horrible Bosses 2.” Anders will direct, and Morris will exec produce pic.
The studio had been looking for a replacement director, since Seth Gordon fell out of the project due to scheduling conflicts. With the success of “We’re the Millers,’ which has already grossed more than $110 million domestically, New Line had been looking to stay in business with the duo.
“Horrible Bosses” stars Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis and Charlie Day are expected to return with Brett Ratner and Jay Stern producing. John Cheng and John Rickard are exec producing.
Anders and Morris are repped by CAA and Mosaic.
