Christopher Nolan put in charge of DC Movie Universe at Warner

According to Latino-Review Christopher Nolan is now in charge of the DC Movie Universe at Warner.

They also go on to say that a JL movie with a Bale/Cavill team-up just might happen. Interesting...

WB needs to decide what they're going to do with the JL movie already.

Didn't Nolan at one time say he wouldn't take this exact job if offered?

I really hope Christian Bale NEVER plays Batman again. I sincerely hope the door is closed on that universe. Bale in Justice League would devalue the trilogy he made with Nolan.

I felt that Dark Knight Rises already achieved that.....

Even if Bale returns it doesn't necessarily mean that the Nolan universe is the same as the Justice League universe. DC is famous for its multiverse, so they could easily be two different universes.

Nolan in charge of DC > Millar in charge of Fox Marvel

That matters absolute fuck all when you're going to the general as fuck populace of the average moviegoer. It's going to be the same universe to them just cuz it's DC unless it explicitly makes it so different that it makes itself understood that it is a different universe. If not that..it's the same universe for all the superheroes for some people.

Maybe, maybe not.

People don't think the new Spider-Man movie is set in the same universe as the Raimi Spider-Man movies because the new movie was a new origin.

If Justice League gives a new origin for Batman, people won't think its the same universe as Nolan's trilogy.

Cool. But I hope he works on his own projects still. All of his movies are built around unique, high concepts. I'm anxious to see what concept he's going after next.

Makes sense. WB has far too much riding on a Justice League movie to take a gamble. They need some security - and Nolan is it.

I wouldn't be surprised if Nolan's involvement ends up being as far as having "Christopher Nolan Presents" in the opening credits and little else.

The good news: this is the guy behind "The Dark Knight"

The bad news: this is the guy behind the "The Dark Knight Rises"

Anyone else think Nolan is going to end up the CEO of Warner somewhere down the line?

Ah yes this brings out all the Nolan haters. I can't wait for the first 'he's overrated' or Supermallet's favorites 'his movies are too confusing'

No, WB has a history of giving a lot of power to their successful artists, but they're not going to put them in charge as CEO. Back in the 80s, Prince was on the WB board, IIRC.

Whedon is in charge of the Marvel universe over at Disney. I don't think that means he'll end up CEO of the company.

I agree.

And he gets farther away from doing something along the lines of Following or Memento.

Oh, I bet he made a deal where he would shepherd the comic universe if they gave him more money for original projects.

Aside from the fact that Begins was the best of the three, what was wrong with Rises?

I don't see it as that and what is wrong with that if that is the case. Is a director not supposed to evolve. He would be producer on these movies.
