I enjoyed the episode. It helps that watches/clocks/horology is one of my biggest hobbies. That being said, a watch from 1938 would not still glow like the one in the show. Back then they used Tritium on watches; its half life is only around 13 years.

The premise is cool, but the open where White shoots the pilot and bitch slaps Anthony Edwards (who should be shitting himself and not demanding answers) was ridiculous -- as was the green screen effects. Also, the FBI agent is completely incompetent. As long as this is a stand-alone season, I'll stick with it. It's better than The River from last year -- but it's alot like it in many ways.

Of all the actors, I think the kid from Californication (not Timlin) is doing the best job; which doesn't really bode well for the state of the show. Edwards doesn't seem to put much effort into his role.

Why didn't Edward's wife jump out of the backseat of the car (in the middle of a busy district) while the second coming of the anti-christ was busy capping 70lb Indian women? Were the child locks on??

Well I definitely thought it was much better than the pilot. Other than the opening scene in the submarine I thought the overall story is interesting. The acting is pretty bland but I thought the same on Fringe so still plan on sticking with this and seeing how they build the story with the 12 and the angel of death. The action parts just aren't hitting right now and I find myself more interested when they are discussing the clues.

It was definitely a better episode than the pilot. The casting was all wrong for this show, they tried to ape the Da Vinci Code's archetypes too closely. No one wants to follow Anthony Edwards as a lead actor anymore on a weekly basis.

I skipped this because word is ABC isn't renewing the show (although I think they'll show all the ones produced). Was it significantly better than the pilot, or just a little better than mediocre?

Slightly better, at most. I thought this was a single-season series; or were they hoping it would be a hit and turn it into a yearly show?

I hope it's single season. I keep waiting for the next Lost and need to realize that it's just not going to happen on OTA stations.

Just one.
So the premise is you need to find all twelve clocks where clock one leads you to clock two and so on and so forth. Good thing White didn't stumble on clock #12 right from the get go.
If the last clock reveals the location of the ark of the covenant, I'm gonna be pissed.

This is one of those shows that feels like it could tell a really good story within a season, not everything needs to go on for years.
