Wasn't really upset that the firefighters got eliminated. It was their own fault for stupidly agreeing to skip the road block. You could see the visible displeasure on Phil's face.

Not a spoiler per se, but speculation based on the preview..
Spoiler:
Given that the the entire next leg appears to take place on Bora Bora skipping that road block and accepting the requisite four hour penalty will probably cost one of the other two teams as well. Good. I hope it's the newlyweds.

I'm rooting for the hockey guys. Their intro was hockey and beer. They also like to finish each other's sandwiches.

The YouTube "male" is on the verge of reaching "Twinny!" level of annoyance.

I was talking with the wife about it and wondered if they could have skipped the challenge, gotten there last, and then depending on the length of the canoe ride, said fuck it and gone back to try the challenge again to see if they could beat the 4 hour penalty? Or because they agreed to take the clue to skip the challenge, are they barred from going back and reattempting it? I know they made a "pact" with the two other teams but with a million dollars on the line, I would have risked pissing them off if this was a possibility.

It was their acceptance of the penalty that got them the clue about what to do next. It had nothing to do with the pact. Now if they had simply left the beach, gone to the boats and found Phil without actually getting the clue, then they could accept the penalty or go back and complete the task.

I figured that but was just curious. Thanks.

How can you not root for Chuck & Wynona? Not only does Chuck have a badass mullet but he also works at Wal-Mart! I hope they win the whole thing.

Being a Carolina Hurricanes fan I'm rooting hard for the Battaglia brothers. They have made Raleigh their home and run a bar called Lucky B's. I think I would pull for them anyway based on Anthony's question to Bates = "Got my teeth?"

The YouTube couple has got to go.

When they said that the twin doctors were twin gynecologists, it made me immediately think of Dead Ringers. Now that would be a pair of twin gynecologists to have on the race.

WTF? Where's the flamboyantly gay team....that's a TAR staple?

I'm guessing it's against the rules, but I'd make a deal with the Express Pass that you pay us 10% of your winnings if you win TAR.

The newlyweds are assholes.
I like that they acknowledged that they are assholes.

You've got one of the ob/gyn twins, and the male half of the Youtube duo.

You're covered.

I think these programs (TAR, BB, Survivor) have rules against making deals to split the prize.

Not to mention the male half of the newlywed couple. No straight man wears a shirt that pink/fuschia/purple whatever-the-hell that was.

Re: The Amazing Race 22 -- "Business in the Front, Party in the Back" -- 2/17/13

I was unimpressed by most of the teams. I can't remember a season where I've disliked more of them after first introductions. We watch the show now with our 8 and 10 year old and sometimes I'm embarrassed that they have to see adults behaving the way they do.

And who knew there was something worse than a mullet in this world. Turns out it's a PERMED mullet! He looks like a friggin' poodle.

"We gave up and scraped by in last place. We're geniuses!" That's some serious rationalization there.

Once the Fire Fighters knew they would be last, why didn't they go back and finish the Road block? If they had completed it in less than 4 hours they would have moved up to 9th place.

Once they got the next clue to do the boat thing they got the penalty, so it couldn't happen.

The smart thing would have been to have those two teams quit the road block and then continue the road block knowing you had a 4 hour buffer.
