I am sorry if my question is out of place but it belongs to the DVD "Origin: Spirits of the Past DVD (Hyb) Special Edition" for $8.99 at TRSi's BB.

Whats the deal with the re-release of this anime (different cover - Viridian Collection)? Can anybody tell me the main difference between the two SE's and which one is worth the cash (content, packing, re-encoded?!).

As far as I know the 2 DVD special edition releases are the same content wise. The packaging is different. The $29.98 version has the eco-packaging (similar to Virdian). The $19.98 is a keepcase release (possibly with O-card). No video differences between the two as far as I know. If you really want the best video quality for this movie, Blu-ray is the best route (provided that you are able to play it).

So after all you recommend the second special edition release? I personally dont like these cardboard-eco-releases (like the Tenchi Muyo GXP VR, the discs arrived already scratched due to the cardboard packing).

Thanks for your advice, i will pass on the first SE even if its very cheap.
