If I buy the 5 year extended warranty at Good Guys store for $500,
I'm told it includes unlimited ISF calibrations in the 5yr period.
Anyone have any experience with them? Is it worth it or should I get
a 3rd party ISF calibration? Thanks!

cat,
get it in writing & read the fine print, just make sure they are calibrations to
Imaging Science Foundation standards by
ISF certified technicians!
Anytime you call an ISF pro, this usually
sets you back $300-$500!!! so I highly doubt
that you are going to get "unlimited" ISF
calibrations just for the asking!

I worked for GG some years back. I'm sure they are NOT ISF cert. You'd be lucky to get someone who can do basic work.

I used to work for tgg! and generally the techs are not ISF certified. The callibration cervice is just a standard convergence and setting allignment for projection TVs. I think the service is still worth the price though.
