I am still in shock after reading this news yesterday that they are actually having Fassbender play legendary kids character "Frank Sidebottom." He was a staple of 80s English Kids TV. Now who will be playing Little Frank?

I motion to replace Gyllenhaal in every movie with her more attractive look a like. Elizabeth Olsen.
But in all honesty, Gyllenhaal isn't the hottest actress out there but she isn't that bad.

I'm not sure I'm okay with this film.
I mean... I don't think we'll ever get to see Fassbender's eyes in it, so... why bother?

I've seen clips for this. I think regardless who was Frank... I think I'd still want to see this just cuz it's weird. The fact that Fassbender chose this adds to the interest. Gleeson as well adds some flavor. I have liked his work from what I've seen. His dad is solid so I hope he goes the same route.
I think Maggie G is attractive. Saying that... I think in attractiveness her brother leads the pair in looks. *totally doesn't crave the cock*

I think they're both goofy looking in their own unique ways. But then, this is me:
So I don't really get to say that

Heard a lengthy podcast with Jon Ronson who was the keyboardist for Frank Sidebottom and who wrote the film (he's played by Domhnall Gleeson in this movie). He attested to the fact that it was indeed Fassbender in the film, because he got to see the dailies and saw Fassbender putting on and taking off the mask in each shot.
This movie is not the true story of the real Frank Sidebottom (Chris Sievey, who would be seen without the mask), but a fictionalized version of the Frank character's life. Kind of how Pee-Wee's Big Adventure was to Paul Reubens.

Saw this on a plane ride this summer. Really pulled me in with its heart and weirdness. Only problem was that the attendants collected the movie iPads right at the end of the film and I missed the final five minutes. Whoever sees it, what happens? Otherwise, totally recommend for fans of indies and abstract music!

The last five minutes are the most powerful, by far.
I just finished viewing this. I've seen the Frank Sidebottom British TV show, and this is quite far afield from that. An almost complete re-imagining of Frank, but since the movie was written by an actual band member, maybe not so much? It's one of those movies that is going to stick with me, I can tell. There are some deep themes that will take some time to process.
And in case you're wondering if you ever get to see Fassbender's face or not:
