jOBS (April, 2013) - Kutcher, Mulroney, Woods, Modine (the Steve Jobs story)
So, this is different than the rumored Aaron Sorkin Steve Jobs biopic...and yes, it's spelled like that (jOBS).
Scheduled for April of '13.
"The story of Steve Jobs' ascension from college dropout into one of the most revered creative entrepreneurs of the 20th century."

Get a haircut, ya hippie!
RIP, Steve Jobs.
I don't think the Sorkin biopic is a rumor. I'm pretty sure it's happening.
I've never been obsessed with Mac. I'm more of an Android guy. But I've seen some documentaries on Youtube. The ups and downs of his career are pretty interesting.

Ashton Kutcher can't act to save his life.
I'll wait for the Sorkin penned version. Which I'm sure will be decidedly better than this.

It made just over $14 million, so yeah, nobody went to see it.

Yea. I guess. It looks dumb.
I admire Jobs' optimism and lifestyle. That's my only real attraction to the movie.

I don't care for Ashton Kutcher so will be skipping out on this entirely. Are they lacking in people to cast movies properly because it seems like some of these movies have no basis for what the character is means to be. Surprised it made $14 mil....

Naw that's just what happens. jOBS is the "chump" Steve Jobs biopic whereas the "heavy" one is due later. This was simply an independently produced, low budget flick and, with investors, you need some recognition. Kutcher is recognizable.
That said, the movie will be on Netflix in a few months. Open Road features are usually up inside of 8 months.

My dad is a big fan of Steve Jobs and even he didn't want to see the movie. I asked why and he told me, "what for? If I want to see Steve Job's story I'll just watch his interviews and documentaries on youtube." He made a good point. Why see the embellished account when you can see real footage of the guy for free?

I would agree. I was disappointed they skipped some parts I would find interesting. But it wasn't a horrible movie. It just needed more time to breathe. Would probably had made a better HBO mini-series.

Sorkin is currently knee-deep in the script for Sony Pictures' upcoming adaptation of the Steve Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson. Despite pressure from two other rushed biopics about the late Apple co-founder -- the indie "jOBS" starring Ashton Kutcher and Funny Or Die's "iSteve" with Mac spokesperson Justin Long -- Sorkin is using his "Newsroom" strategy of getting the story right, not first.
"It's a heavy lift," he admitted. "I'm working with a great team on a very exciting project."
