I'll need to see a trailer first. If this was 1995, and a Besson/DeNiro movie was announced, I'd be all in. Now, meh.

Looks like lots of fun.
It also appears that it has the same plot structure as Leon. A character-driven movie that builds up to a big final confrontation. Nothing wrong with that.

"from director Luc Besson, the producer of Taken"....... has it been really that long since he's directed a big mainstream movie?
I also really liked the Muse cover of "Feelin Good' being featured in the trailer

He made a few movies since. But nothing really "mainstream" that gets a marketing push.

I don't think the trailer's particularly good, but I'm definitely interested based on the cast and story. Man, I really just want one last killer De Niro performance... this isn't it but at least it's getting closer. I thought the first Analyze This and Meet the Parents played off of his past roles pretty well, this could be along the same lines.

I kind of agree with Artman, the movie looks like it doesn't know whether or not it's a comedy or a drama. Fish out of water movies like this are typically done either 100% serious or 100% screwball. A blend just won't work IMO.
I will say I chuckled when the trailer started with Rolling Stones music, as I immediately thought of DeNiro's work with Scorsese, then lo and behold, he's the exec producer.

This looks great. Besson is pretty adept at this type of pulpy action films as a writer/director so I'm definitely on board.
Based on the action scenes seems like this is National Lampoon's European Vacation meets Taken. Sounds perfect. And De Niro doing De Niro might actually work out in this.
Marketing wise, it was odd to see the director, Luc Besson, presented as "the Producer of Taken" instead of the "director of [one of his great films]," but I guess the Taken audience is the one they're going for here.

I guess he did not want to use "From the director of the Arthur trilogy"
2013 The Family
2011 The Lady
2010 Arthur 3: The War of the Two Worlds
2010 The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec
2009 Arthur and the Revenge of Maltazard
2006 Arthur and the Invisibles
2005 Angel-A
1999 The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc
1997 The Fifth Element
1994 Léon: The Professional
1991 Atlantis (documentary)
1990 La Femme Nikita
1988 The Big Blue
1985 Subway
1983 Le Dernier Combat (The Last Battle)

Yea, as a Luc Besson admirer, I was only aware of Arthur and the Invisibles and The Lady. And then all of the EuropaCorp action movies over the past ten+ years.

Whenever I see De Niro's name in the credits, I get worried.

Several posts indicate that THE FAMILY was not the original title. What was the original title?
And why does this sound like a variation on the 1990 Steve Martin comedy, MY BLUE HEAVEN (a sort-of sequel to GOODFELLAS that came out sooner than GOODFELLAS)?
