This one just fell flat for me. All that tunnel stuff, and they don't bring in a dog? Or go over every inch, maybe with more lights? Then when they do a 2nd look, conveniently it's carrie and just 1 fbi dude after the others wander off...just way too much 24 in there.

I also half expected carl to be wandering around in there with his sheriffs hat on.

The part where the 1 FBI guy left the others with Carrie bugged me too, but otherwise I thought it was a very good episode and I can't wait to see what they have in store for the finale.

Calling it now. Saul was the mole and becomes the next leader of the terrorists. Season 3, Saul vs Carrie & Brody!

I have kind of changed the way I watch this show, as I try not to question the many plot holes that each episode produces. The show is still great because you really don't know where the story is taking you, as each episode is riveting. I try not to roll my eyes at all the outrageous things that happens in the show anymore, and I find that is the best way to enjoy it.

Re: Homeland -- "The Mother F***** with a Turban" -- 12/09/12

I thought Quinn was gonna go ahead with the hit on Brody while he was in the car. Heck, I have expected a ridiculous plot twist where Quinn accidentally kills the wife.

Would be awesome if
Spoiler:
Quinn is revealed to be a sleeper agent and/or Brody actually kills Quinn.

I wouldn't be surprised if they kill of Brody. I can't really see them have an actual relationship. It would be "shocking" to kill off the lead, and it would really send Carrie over the edge.

I'm not sure if I can handle Carrie going over the edge, she's already too crazy for my taste. I know, she's always borderline, but the last episodes she has been really over the top.

Re: Homeland -- "The Mother F***** with a Turban" -- 12/09/12

The tunnel scenes reminded me of some 70's cop show like Mannix or Baretta ... all it needed was the cheesy 70's funky rock.

I feel this show going in the wrong trajectory and am afraid for what they have planned. Quinn hunting Brody only to get called off time and again for some other bogus event. Carrie helplessly trying to protect her lover. Ugh. They had to cap it all off by Brody going to Carrie's house immediately upon dropping his family off. He's just free to roam around...

Re: Homeland -- "The Mother F***** with a Turban" -- 12/09/12

The second that lone FBI dude went off with Carrie I knew he was dead. And 6 tactical teams went through the place--twice--and didn't see anything, yet Carrie instantly recognizes the conduits aren't going anywhere and it's a secret hiding place? Really?

I love the show but am not thrilled about the direction they went with Carrie withholding the info. on how he escaped (thought they might find the cut wrist ties) and the death of Vice President and instead siding with Brody. Seems a long way from what she told him when they first took him down in the hotel room.

Also Saul is my favorite character, and I really hope he somehow turns the tables on Estes next week.

It's funny that Brody was alone with the VP when he died, a known terrorist sympathizer, a man who wore a suicide vest for christ sake, and yet he is not suspected of anything, he is not locked down and interrogated. The show was cool because it was realistic - now it's just getting dumb.

Some valid points, from Rolling Stone:

This was the most tense scene of the episode for me. He and his wife having their divorce conversation, all the while I'm expecting a bullet to shatter glass at any moment.

Now THAT would have put the cherry on top. One would hope the CIA would kill off a US Congressman a bit more discreetly with a bonafide cover story.

Implausibilities aside, I've begun to expect this show to reasonably attempt to shock the audience when it can. Though the definition of 'reason' can be debated ad nauseum, it wouldn't have surprised me if they pulled a stunt like that -- especially going into the season finale next week.

All of this. The show is treading dangerously into typical crappy network tv drama territory. I am to the point where I really dislike the Carrie character because she is starting to ruin the show for me.

The Rolling Stone article posted above summarizes the problems with the show very well. Oh well, one more episode.

Lets just hope Boardwalk Empire wins the Emmy this year.

Let's not forget this show is from some of the creative team behind "24". Knowing that, puts things into perspective a little.

Saul is also probably my favorite character, but let's not forget that even though Estes is portrayed as the heavy here he was 100% correct. After not terminating him, Brody went on to murder the Vice President of the United States. Granted, he did not pull the trigger, but he loaded the gun and handed it to the guy who he knew would, and then let him die even though he could have warned him or called for help and Carrie would still have gone free. Again, I don't know if this is what the writers want us to get out of this situation because Saul is obviously the most sympathetic character in the show, but Estes proved correct about eliminating Brody and Saul was wrong. I realize the characters don't know that yet, but we do.

The second tunnels sequence was definitely a low point for the show. I am sure everyone in law enforcement was shaking their head.
