Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
It's Christmastime, and Debra learns it may be better to receive when she gets a tip from Hannah's father, one that could lead to incriminating Dexter in a crime. Meanwhile, Dexter discovers that the man behind his mother's death has been released from prison.

Episode 11 of 12

This season has flown by really fast. I can't believe there's only two episodes left this year. Very excited to see where this episode and the finale go!!

Huh.
Spoiler:
I guess he left a message on voice mail, or mailed an old-fashioned letter before Dexter took him out?

Anyway, can't wait.

Don't click if you don't want to know but..
Spoiler:
The prevew for last week's episode showed where Deb had received a voicemail from Hannah's dad. Should be interesting to see how that plays out. If they'll pin it on Hannah or make the connection to Dexter.

Didn't Dexter already confront and kill his mother's killer in Season 2?

Oh right, I forgot that was how it ended last week.

It's been a while since I watched season two but if I recall correctly
Spoiler:
there were two or three people who were responsible for or that he deemed responsible for his mother's death. He killed one of them in the cabin, I think one died of natural causes, and the other guy was in jail. From the sounds of the synopsis the third guy gets released and Dexter possibly goes after him.

How stupid was Dexter letting Hannah live? Hell, he went to another country just to kill Lila.

So did Deb drug her own water? That's my theory. Not sure why Dex let Hannah live though.

Re: Dexter -- "Do You See What I See?" -- 12/09/12

Why the fuck would Dex let Hannah live? Why would Deb? She's the only one who can bring both of them down. She KNOWS he's murdered people. Hell, it looks like that plays directly into next week's finale, but I have no idea how they'd even let it get to that point.

Also, it seems like letting that guy who killed his mother go would also be a plot point that comes back to burn him. Fuck, at this point it's not if he gets caught, but when. There are way too many strings left hanging.

Of course, Dex was a fucking idiot to even go after that guy in the first place. Of course, it was a total coincidence that he gets released just as two of the highest ranking people in the force are investigating that you may be the Bay Harbor Butcher. Fucking moron deserves to be locked up for the rest of his life.

That's what I was thinking. Deb did say she would do anything to save Dexter from Hannah. Then again, she was tracking down a witness so it doesn't make sense that she would poison herself before seeing how things played out with the witness.

Re: Dexter -- "Do You See What I See?" -- 12/09/12

I have no doubts Deb dosed her own water. It was the only way to get Hannah out of the picture, but of course she didn't think that Hannah knows everything that Dex does and has done. Stupid move.

I wonder if the dude who got away will play into next year. Seems like quite a bit part for a fairly name actor (Nestor Serrano) to play as one and done.

Also, I have speculation that something is going to happen to Angel. I don't know why, but I just get the feeling it will.

My guess is that after Deb saw how unreliable the witness would be, she had to take drastic action.

Re: Dexter -- "Do You See What I See?" -- 12/09/12

Holy fuck. This episode just cranked the tension up massively. I'm with the other posters in here that say Deb dosed her water with the pills herself because she was so desperate to bring Hannah in.

Dexter was a damn idiot for going after Estrada. It felt wrong from the get go him going after him and even if it had worked out the guy going missing shortly after being released was going to be suspicious. Either way this failed attempt has got to come back to screw him over eventually.

Speculation for next week's finale going off the previews:
Spoiler:
I was trying to figure out who it is Dexter is putting in the back of his vehicle in the next episode. I'm thinking it has to be Estrada but I don't really know why Dexter would go after him again after being so close to being caught. Also there has to be a twist with next week and Dexter being brought in. I almost wonder if somehow the blame will get pinned on Deb somehow. Also when Harry said that LaGuerta isn't even close to meeting the code obviously means Dexter at least contemplates killing her. I'm wondering if Deb does something to her though. Could be a pretty big stretch but maybe she takes a cue from Hannah and poisons her somehow. Although I suppose if that was the case it'd be too suspicious that she suddenly drops dead after her Bay Harbor Butcher investigation.

Regardless of what happens this season has been incredible thus far. This show has redeemed itself in a big way if you ask me after having a couple weaker seasons. I can't wait seeing how the finale plays out and what happens in the next season. I really hope it ends on a high note.

Really dumb move on Dexter's part to go after that guy knowing that LaGuerta has been on his ass and knows that the Doakes building is tied to his mother's killers. He had "bait" written all over him.

Yeah why on Earth would Dexter let her go if she knows all this stuff. But also he didn't take heed of her explanation that if she really wanted to kill Deb, she would not have failed. I seriously doubt she had anything to do with Deb.

Deb spiked her own water...seems pretty obvious.

Re: Dexter -- "Do You See What I See?" -- 12/09/12

So Estrada was being followed.....except for that one time that Dexter set up the meeting. And of course, the cops lose him long enough to give Dexter a chance to escape. If LaGuerta was really serious about catching Dexter, you'd think she'd put a little more effort into following his every move.

I agree about Deb spiking the water. It didn't make sense for Hannah to even try it, knowing what Dexter does. And the whole turning Hannah in makes very little sense from Dexter and Deb's perspective. I'm sure this illogical move will make more sense with the finale but it is another example of characters doing stupid things for the sake of keeping the story going along.

I wouldn't worry. I think the preview was extremely deceptive.

I thought it was fantastic. I thought the La Guerta storyline was legit coming to an end or at least a hiatus. I only wish they explored that trap more. He got away pretty easily and I thought it was a waste of a pretty good idea.

Same here. I just didn't have the self control to stop myself. There was a single reveal in that preview that I wish I could scrub from my brain, because I'll spend the entire episode waiting for it.

I wonder if they're setting him up as a big bad for next season. It would be a good bookend to the series with Dexter learning more about his mother and Harry along the way.
