This episode shows why AR wins the Emmy every year. What a roller coaster!

I got a bit nervous when Trey and Lexi ended up in the Irreversible rape tunnel.

No surprise with who was eliminated. I hope the speed bump wasn't ride around with a priest.

If anything I would say this episode and season makes you wonder how few Emmy voters ever watch reality tv and just check the same list off for nominees every year.

Is it common in Moscow for some taxis to be completely unmarked? Seemed like a lot of the teams were ending up in random dark colored sedans.

I thought this was a pretty uneventful leg, challenge-wise. I was actually surprised when the Chippendales got the clue saying it was the Pit Stop already. I figured with the travel element out of the picture this leg they would add another task. Legs like this almost feel like the producers are intentionally stalling, as if there was a problem with the next location and they have to throw something together at the last minute until they sort it out.

My guess is that there was another challenge that we didn't see to make room for the passport stuff.

Is this the first time that they didn't post the start times?

How frustrating for the rockers. To win several legs and then get sabotaged by a taxi. Fricking taxis are ruining this show.

They only won the 2 legs they did because no one else went for the FF they won and the next leg had no bunching and they would have had to run really awful not to come in first again based on how far ahead the FF pushed them.

To be fair, it's very bad judgement to leave your stuff in a taxi and hope for the best. In any country, but especially one where you aren't familiar. And you should never be separated from your passport. This is just common sense for travel, let alone the race.

I couldn't believe so many of the Racers had trouble with that time zone challenge. Sure, I'd give them slack if they got it within 5 attempts or so but 28 tries or whatever it was Rob had? It looked like that Beekman Boy got it on his first try so good for him.

I wondered about that as well. I was curious to see how far the 2nd group lagged the 1st.

Their planes arrived in Russia about 6-7 hours after the lead groups started the morning challenge on the prior episode, so I figured that was about how far behind they were. Add in the penalty for the farmers and they were probably 10 hours behind the lead groups to start last episode.

I agree. The Rockers can't blame the taxi driver.

Trey & Lexi had a bad cab driver, but he didn't hurt them that much because of their big lead.

I was surprised that the time penalty was assessed at the start of the next leg for the goat farmers for what if something were to happen that the Rockers did get their stuff?

As far as Russian taxis, most are pretty shady. Best is to call for one and get a predetermined rate or else you get dropped off wherever and/or charged a large fare.

Re: The Amazing Race 21 -- "We Was Robbed" -- 11/18/12

Here's what I didn't understand:

The Rockers get to the mat (last week) and Phil says you can't check in because you don't have your passports. Then the goat farmers show up and Phil checks them in, though with the 4 hour penalty. Then Phil lets the Rockers check in, even though they still do not have their passports.

So what changed that allowed the Rockers to check in later? Nothing that I'm aware of. Seems like it was either a completely unnecessary and huge time penalty created by not letting them check in immediately, or they shouldn't have been allowed to check in at all.

Maybe this was explained in the second half of this week's episode and I missed it since football caused my DVR to cut it off.

Re: The Amazing Race 21 -- "We Was Robbed" -- 11/18/12

I think since it's a non elimination leg and now that the Rockers are last, Phil let them check in to continue the next leg. At the next leg, if they can't produce the passport at the pitstop, they are done.

Maybe it was more of a safety issue, to make sure all teams were in the hotel instead of wandering around and waiting?

This is how we reconciled it. There have been several times in the past where a team runs into an impassable obstacle that prevents them from continuing the race and checking in (e.g. unrolling over 100 hay bales). At the point that they are the last team out, Phil goes out onto the course and tells them that they are eliminated.

The rockers faced a similar situation. Unable to check in and continue. At the point that they are the last, Phil goes to eliminate them. But since this is a pre-determined non-elimination leg, they are not eliminated. It's a stretch of the rules, but probably what the producers had to come up with, since it was a pre-determined non-elimination.

Well, they do blame the taxi driver because he stole their stuff.

The Hollywood Reporter: So Abba, it was just you who lost your passport?
Abba: No, I did not lose my passport; it was stolen from us. We had a cab driver who drove away with both our bags. As soon as we got out of the car, he drove off; it was a conscious, malicious act of theft and not something stupid where we just left our bags somewhere. Why my passport was in my bag was I had gotten out of the pool [where the challenge called for the competitors to perform with a Russian synchronized swim team] and I had no towel and I was wet. I took the passport out of my clothes because they were soaking wet. It was the one of the oddest circumstances in my life; next time I'm synchronized-swimming with a Russian Olympic team, that definitely will not happen.
