I agree Dexter has been kick ass this season. Just really good episodes so far and it feels like must see television again whereas the last couple or so weren't bad but not quite as good as what had come before.
I still haven't gotten on the Homeland bandwagon yet. It's a decent show but meh. I need to get around to watching the second season of The Walking Dead before I even consider watching the new episodes.

In all fairness though, I don't know that Dexter can ever top Season 4. Trinity is one of TV's best villains and it fully utilized the viewers feelings for Rita which were built up over 4 years. I think this is why this season has been so effective is because it utilizes our feelings for Deb which have also been built up since the very first season. In a way, it's even better because we empathize with Deb much more than Rita who played more of a peripheral role in Dexter's life and never fully saw Dexter for who he is.
I feel the same way about Homeland as you do, but it's enjoyable enough that it makes for a good complementary show. Same as Walking Dead. I consider those two to be more for the entertainment value rather than quality writing.

I think of Homeland as 24 with less action. It's a political thriller to me, but not much more. For me, Dexter is an examination of primal human nature. For the same reason, I love Breaking Bad. That kind of stuff is far more interesting to me. I DID include Homeland as part of the reason why I love Sunday night TV, didn't I? Is it okay with you if I like it for different reasons than you?

I know right, even though they're sure to hook up in future episodes if she didn't show anything here she probably never will. And God is Quinn fucking stupid destroying evidence and letting a drug kingpin go free for a girl he's known for like 2 weeks.

At least Hannah is a hottie compared to Lumen. Yeah Dexter sure knows how to pick them. These last 2 ladies he's hooked up with are making Rita look like June Cleaver.
Nice of this episode to reference Jordan Chase and Lumen.
I agree that was so stupid of Quinn to walk in there and steal the evidence. Does he really not think that's going to bite him in the ass later on?
As for Batista wanting to own the restaurant. Doesn't bother me. I think as a 20 year veteran, he's seeing a light at the end of the tunnel and wants to get out while he still has his health and sanity.
