This was my favorite episode so far.

the only part i thought was silly, was the Hood using a strange voice when talking to Laurel. I guess he will start talking with a french accent next, or holding his nose while he speaks to her. I guess there is no way to talk to someone who knows you and not sound silly altering your voice.

i am really curious how he resolves that ending. They are almost like Homeland, in that they don't drag things out over a whole season.

They showed he was using a voice modulator. I'd prefer he use that all the time, otherwise it sounds silly when he's trying to be serious and intimidating.

Like the season arc twists. The parallels on the island with current events are very good as well.

Mommy has a boat! Looks like Walter may not be in in her schemes.

I think, somehow, Ollie will help explain what he was doing by having Diggle donning the hooded costume.

That is what I was thinking as well. Which makes sense as the timing of bringing him into the fold and knowing where he keeps his gear. Maybe he will take out one of the targets on the list so Oliver's mom doesnt get an idea of her son's involvement......yet.

This show has been better than expected so far, but it always irks me when they mention Starling City. Was it really necessary to change it from the actual Star City? I also don't think we've ever heard the name Green Arrow mentioned on the show.

Laurel seemed awfully trusting of a green-hooded man with face paint, showing up in her apartment unannounced. I think they are going to reveal she knew it was Ollie all along.

I thought it was kind of early for people to know the identity of Arrow this soon in the season.

Great episode. Every episode has been solid so far. I'm a little surprised that they moved so quickly with Laurel's Dad piecing together that Ollie is the vigilante. As mentioned, I'm sure Diggle will play a part in helping set him free.

One nit pick I had was the prison scene where Ollie was dressed as the prison guard with a ski mask. How in the world would Laurel not recognize Ollie's mouth and eyes.

I did like how they explained the origin of Arrow's modulated voice. Smallville never quite got around to showing that he was actually using a voice modulator.

That is the one thing that feels off, enjoying the show and all however it feels like it is trying to be based on a DC comic character yet not at the same time. Like half an off brand of cereal.

Going to continue to enjoy the show, I just wonder why they have to change things.

I don't like the dialogue. Poorly written Revenge of the week stories.
This show also needs some humor. All the characters are overly serious.
I am Ok with the dark aspect of the show but its rather uninvolving.

Why does there need to be humor? I don't want to laugh when watching this. I like that it's tone is very dark like The Dark Knight movies.

The show is definitely a rip-off of Bruce Wayne's Batman. There are serious rumors the CW desperately wanted a young Batman show, but got shot down by Warner Bros. Arrow ended up being its replacement.

That's funny, because a recurring complaint about Green Arrow comics, going back decades, is that he's just a Batman clone with a slightly different MO.

The guy playing Oliver cant act. Hes got two modes, wooden and wooden. The rest of the cast seems capable enough.

But he looks the part, which in the long run will matter more to the success of the show. The acting requirements for a show like Arrow aren't that strenuous, most normal people could pick it up within a season. The entire supporting cast are made up entirely of veteran character actors, so he will have plenty of time to learn.

I think he's pretty wooden when he's the Arrow, but is much more natural when he's playing Oliver Queen.

He was hired for his tits. Which I hope they continue to feature every week. Hope he doesn't become too good an actor, or he'll stop showing them.

I agree - the guy playing Arrow/Queen does a good job playing Queen, especially given that Queen is himself acting as a wastrel son and a driven man depending on who he is speaking too. Playing Arrow is rough, because Arrow is meant to be a personna to hide an identity, not a real person himself. Bale playing Batman had the same issue - Batman was meant to be over-the-top scary, not nuanced. Arrow can be wooden (pardon the pun) and fit the show perfectly.

I know this show is meant to be dark, and I like how it is being developed, but I wish they could work in a bit of levity somehow. I have no idea how, but after four episodes I find the show to be a bit too bleak - maybe if Arrow starts winning more than struggling it'll seem more positive. I never found Batman dark, as I knew he would always win, but with Arrow I get the sense of a young guy who is one bit of bad luck away from an epic fall.
