Planetside 2
I didn't see a thread for this one...
I received a beta invite last week, don't remember applying for it. Maybe all past SOE customers get one. anywho It's a MMOFPS, sorta like BF2142 (science fiction setting) only on a huge map. 16km with up to 2000 players. Free to play, by the way.

Re: Planetside 2
I've been playing in the beta for a few months now, although I don't Play it often. The game is really well done, but much more fun with a group of people teaming up. Some of the battles are epic, especially at night with crazy amounts of tracer fire every which way.
My favorite part of the game are the drop ships, nothing like flying around with 15 people landing at bases and causing hell. Even better with multiple ships.
FYI there are two continents now, with a planned total of 3 at launch.

I've been pretty much playing it non-stop. I love the freedom to just go anywhere. And you can actually outflank the enemy because the map is so big. Of course this completely ruins my enjoyment of all the smaller map games. I tried to play Dishonored and it just felt claustrophobic.

Re: Planetside 2
Yeah, this game involves a lot of actual strategic play, which is nice. There are no artificial barriers or objects to funnel players into corridor shooter situations like BF3. This game is just wide open go wherever. Which also has the downside of making it feel a little unstructured. They do a good job on the map identifying battle zones though so players know where the action is.
What server are you playing on Covenant? Maybe I will create another character and we can play together? I usually play as Vanu, with the heavy loadout cause I think the rockets are essential in taking out vehicles and turrets, which chew up infantry pretty easy.

Lysithea, I haven't rolled a Vanu yet. Spent most of my time playing red and just recently tried blue. I didn't see much difference between them. At least no enough to give me any kind of edge in battle.
