The Neighbors -- "Halloween-ween" -- 10/24/12

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Synopsis:

"Halloween-ween" - Since arriving on Earth, the aliens - led by the Bird-Kersees - have viewed Halloween as a threat and have set up a barrier at the gates of Hidden Hills to prevent children dressed in costumes from entering the community. The Weavers, on the other hand, are excited about their first Halloween in the suburbs and want to open the gates of the community to celebrate. They do their best to explain the ritual of trick-or-treating to the aliens. Meanwhile, Marty and Debbie's fears are realized when Amber, Max and Abby reject their family costume plans, on "The Neighbors," WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 24 (8:30-9:00 p.m. ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Yep. But it's those random lines that I love. "Tonight our little dick does tricks in the neighborhood..."

That character from Hunger Games.

I was curious as to who the actress was. Her name is Toks Olagundoye. Rather fetching woman.

That explains why it went over my head, I know nothing about the books/movie.

Thanks

I actually am really liking this show. nothing is water cooler talk or anything, but it makes me laugh and is enjoyable.

The kids are just ok (Dick Butkus is so damn weird), but the parents make the show (especially the weavers).

ABC picked this up for a full season today. 22 episodes.

And now what is the fate? Since they basically begged to be picked up the finale, I don't think it's looking good.

I really hope this one comes back in any capacity. Considering it's a friday show we might get another season but it's still a long shot.

This show is (was?) too good for ABC and Friday nights.

I still love the line from last week (paraphrased)

"I want a boy and a girl"
"You can have both?"
"Yes, it's called a David Bowie"

Re: The Neighbors -- "Halloween-ween" -- 10/24/12

I finished the last episode yesterday. The past few eps, they made both sly and blatant references to the fact they were actually a TV show.

"Why are we going over this?"
"To catch up the two Tim Allen fans who tuned in by accident..."

Their dreams of moving to Wednesdays, but not going to ABC Family...

I loved this show, very self referential, great guest cameos (Estrada and CarrotTop a few weeks ago, George Takai). I am certainly going to miss it.

As soon as I heard this show got moved to Fridays I said out loud "Why does ABC hate this show?"

If this is the end I will seriously consider getting this series on DVD/Blu.

Cancelled figured it had a 5% chance of renewal but was still holding on hoping. I think i'm going to miss this one the most.

They pretty much joked off and on about an eventual cancellation the past few episodes.

This cancellation doesn't sting as much as some others since the big screen version of this show just happens to be opening this weekend! (Ha, take that Community.) I can't wait to see my favorite New Jersey aliens on the big screen. I'm heading out to the theater right now...

Because ABC dicks around with funny shows.

This, Modern Family, and Wipeout are/were the only three shows I bothered to watch ABC for.
