I'm way too young for this show, but I still like it. Good storylines, and it is keeping me interested. So good enough for this year (weak year, IMO).

I tried again last night just for Juggs but Quaid is just so hard to watch. He seems to scowl throughout the show and something about his delivery that I just don't like. Desperately could have used a different lead on this show. It's not something I'll watch every week or even really pay attention to when I watch it but at this point there is exactly one (2) reason why I'll check this show out.

The crime of the week stories are lame too. There are only about a dozen other CBS shows where you can get that if you want. I like the mob stuff.

I am a week behind, but I think the COTW stuff is definitely weak. I like Quaid. It's a pity Shawn Ryan has a show that may make it a season and a development deal on top of that because if he brought his sensibilities of how to balance a OTW story with arcs, this show would be great. In his absence, I'd suggest they bring on pretty much anybody who wrote on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, or heck even a show like Smallville to get some pointers in how to achieve a better balance.
We need to see Quaid be the sheriff, and it's fine for it to be his show. That said, they can write the show in a manner where we see him locking people up and other random stuff that gives him credibility as sheriff (like Buffy would have 3-4 throwaway stakings at the start of episodes in later seasons), freeing the story telling from the procedural-like mindset that harms the show.
I do think the idea of a procedural show way before DNA is a good one, but the mob stuff in this is too good and the cast isn't right for this to be that show.

Oh hey, now watching the ep, nice to see Wade Williams here. I'm not sure I've seen him since Prison Break.
