What does the Criterion Fear and Loathing DVD look like?

There's several used copies at the local Half Price Books, they're all in the plastic slipcover, and inside is a regular 2 disc plastic case (like the old Star Trek 2 disc sets), but the cover insert looks like it was cut really short on both sides.

Was there a release of this that was a digipack style case inside that plastic slipcover?

I don't own the DVD (the Blu-Ray is on my wants list ), but context clues suggest there was never a digipak. The original release was in February 2003, but see the Movie Metropolis review from August 2004 (scroll down to the Miscellaneous section) and this April 2005 comment from DVDTalk (look under "full-double Alpha type"). Hope that helps.
