Price Point Poll - How much do you usually pay for your games?
Just curious. Generally a new game is $59.99, but game prices have been dropping faster than ever and I can't recall the last time I've spent more than $25 (Max Payne 3) on a game.
So on average, how much do you spend on your individual game purchases (new and used)?
Not counting Tax/Shipping -

Almost all under $10, but I started pretty late in this generation.
I will buy the occasional big title around $50, but those are only due to multiplayer considerations.

I'm willing to spend the full $60 for a decent amount of games, but because of my huge back log of unplayed (or little played) games I haven't bought many titles at full price. I'm holding off on RE6, Assassin's Creed III, etc because they will certainly be 50% off during the holidays.
New Egg's awesome $12 off pre orders have increased the price of my purchases.

Re: Price Point Poll - How much do you usually pay for your games?
I have bought 2 games at full retail in the last 3 years (Skyrim and Borderlands 2). I average around $10 per game not counting digital titles. My out of pocket cost is probably close to around $3 per game thanks to the magical world of fliping.

Re: Price Point Poll - How much do you usually pay for your games?
I usually buy in the $15-$20 range. Occasionally I'll find ones around $10 and occasionally I'll go in for a little more if I really like the game around $30. I'm a cheap bastard, I admit it....but a lot of these sales allow me to be (and I'm pretty good at finding deals as well).

Great thread!
For me, I'm as much a collector as I am a gamer so the answer varies widely. For newer titles there are one's that I have no problem whatsoever paying full retail for (things like RE6, Borderlands 2 for example). But lately a majority of the newer titles are just being produced in such large quantites that they are literally 50% off within a few months. For example, I definitely want ACIII and the new Need For Speed but I bought AC:R & NFS: The Run new last year and within 30 days they were both available 50% off. I've learned my lesson on that front this year. Also, the last couple of years I've purchased tons of titles around the $20.00 from Amazon during the holidays (particularly any AAA titles from the spring and summer I missed).
Now on the collecting side I can pay anywhere from $5.00 for a game I want (for example: complete GBA games) to $250.00 (which I just spent on a complete mint Panzer Dragoon Saga). But collecting is even getting out of control. For example, Earthbound complete on the SNES regularly goes for $500.00 or more on Ebay. And I've seen some of those rare Turbo Grafx 16 games go for upwards of $1500.00.
No way I'm touching that.

I usually wait for $20 or less, but occasionally fork out closer to full price for collector's editions.

Voted in the $40 range. I'll buy a couple big games for the full retail $60 price, but for the most part i'll pay after a small price drop.

Re: Price Point Poll - How much do you usually pay for your games?
it needs a 10 dollar coupon on amazon or 10 or more off at newegg before I will buy. I have picked up games at gamestop for full retail for my son when there is a preorder bonus and its his money...otherwise I wait till it is under 40...

Re: Price Point Poll - How much do you usually pay for your games?
Usually a maximum of $14.99, but more often than not, $10 or less, I have a huge backlog and am in no rush for anything. The vast majority of my games are purchased at Target on clearance (Just picked up WWE '12 for 8.98 yesterday), or at Best Buy with DOTD or Gamer Coupons (Most recently Mass Effect 3 for $10).
I just picked up Uncharted 3 GOTY for 39.99, but I still had the original game sealed and unplayed (which I basically got for free from Sony Rewards), so I sold that for $25 on ebay, and I paid for the rest of it with some Amazon credit I had.

Re: Price Point Poll - How much do you usually pay for your games?
Prices drop so fast these days, I find it hard to justify any $60 purchase. I only pay full MSRP maybe once a year for that one game I know I will play a lot (like NHL 13). Otherwise, I just wait until they drop to under $30, then pick it up used for $15. With Gamefly, Newegg, Amazon, etc, there are so many deals to be had. I just got Binary Domain and Yakuza Dead Souls for $15/each new.

Re: Price Point Poll - How much do you usually pay for your games?
There are only a few series I'm willing to drop full retail on release day. But even then most stores' offers like K-mart's $20 deals, Amazon's $10 offers, Best Buy's $20 and Newegg's $12 offers, killed full retail price about 2 years ago.
That being said I still had 0 hesitation dropping $150 on Borderlands 2.

Re: Price Point Poll - How much do you usually pay for your games?
I rarely buy games, but they generally seem to be in the $40-$50 range when I get to them. Occasionally I pay more for something new (like Skyrim), but usually I wait until hype has died down and I can decide whether it's worth buying or not.

Re: Price Point Poll - How much do you usually pay for your games?
I typically wait for games to go below $20. I will pretty much buy any decent game under $15. This is also why I have way too many unopened games.
I typically don't buy games on release day. So far this year, the only games I've bought on release day have been Borderlands 2, Diablo 3 CE and NBA 2K13. I am still debating if I should spend $75 on Skylanders Giants for a glow in the dark figure...

Backlog is so huge I've only purchased games at full price when it's a limited special edition (Borderlands 2). Otherwise, I can wait.

Re: Price Point Poll - How much do you usually pay for your games?
Between $20 - $30 on a newer release (less than 6 months old) and under $20 on anything older than 6 months old is what I usually try to go on. Some of the major releases and collectors editions are the only thing I try to budge on because I have a big enough back log to keep me busy.

For a couple AAA titles (COD, Halo, Gears) I'll pay full price. Otherwise, for almost everything else, I wait until it's around $20.

I am willing to pay full price for a title I know I will play alot - mostly triple A titles like CoD, Skyrim, NCAA, NHL. Other than that I will get games from Gamefly or buy them once they hit below the $28 (very strange specific number - I know) recently I picked up AC Revelations and DJ Hero 2 for $9 and $5 respectively.

I think from this Gen, I've only bought a couple for full price. Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword. Everything else has been mostly under $20.

Re: Price Point Poll - How much do you usually pay for your games?
The WWE games are about the only thing I pay full price for. Even then I usually find a deal. For 10, I got Vol. 1 of the Summerslam Anthology for free. 11 was part of a buy 2 get 1 free promo. 12 was $47 at Target on release day. All Stars was part of the KMart $20 coupon cycle of 2011.
The only game I paid $60 for without a real deal was MLB 10: The Show. And even then I got the stadium pack for free. That pack I got for 10 still works for MLB 12, unlocking the same stadiums for use. I paid $30 for MLB 12.
The rest of my games are bought on the cheap, either price drops, or Best Buy @gamer magazine coupons.
