Wow!

The level of awesomeness grows every week.

If they keep the pace this will be the best season ever, really rare to see a show having its last as its best season.

Well, I guess this means we won't be seeing Desmond any more this season.

I also notice that they haven't been listing Blair Brown or Lance Reddick in the credits and they haven't made any appearances. Budget cuts?

I know they were trying to be hopeful but letting that guy go risk the entire plan. I was hoping he'd get shot in the back of the head while running away.

Also it looked like they were able to cut the camera out perfectly instead of in a block. That didn't seem to make any sense because in the past they used that push device to get out of the amber.

Good episode besides my nitpicks. I especially liked the head.

That's what I was expecting, too. Thought it would be Etta's way of showing mama who's in charge in futureworld. Guess I was wrong.

I will miss this show when it's gone...

So looks like this is going to be a Fringe scavenger hunt this season!

Perhaps it's just easier to get a thing out of Amber than a person.

I thought Walter said they couldn't use the device because it would push the camera further into the amber.

Liked how Walter only had betamax and LD players . Now I wish I kept my LD player in case I need to build a high powered laser...

Hope the tape hunting doesn't take up the rest of the season and they resolve that in 1-2 episodes.

I appreciated the Criterion Collection shout out before he bashed his LD player.

Maybe he's thinking like I was thinking. Use the laser to cut out a cube. THEN use the push devise as used in the past. It'd be just about impossible to get a clean laser cut like that (with a handheld laser) without hitting the camera too. But it was a relatively minor nit in an episode I really enjoyed (more than last week's).

Great episode. I'd say better than the opener. Can't wait to see where things for from here!

Great episode, and got a kick out of the Criterion joke. Kind of neat to see a show reference something that not many people probably know about. Did I miss something, or were they not given any clues about where to find the next video?

Re: Fringe -- "In Absentia" -- 10/05/12

Yeah saw this last night. Solid hour of TV.

The torture scene of the Loyalist guard was pretty cool. And yes, I was kind of expecting Etta to shoot the guard on that cell phone camera, but I'm sure she wanted to show her Mom that she isn't some cold psycho bitch and has some compassion.

at Henry Ian Cusick's "Cameo" apperance.

Walter gave absolutely no clues on the location of the 1st tape. I wonder where the hell would they start?

I love this show so much. It was kind of sad that he actually was lying about a kid.

I kind of wish they didn't put that part in there with the kid or made a offhand mention that he was seeing the kid off camera.

I think Walter has made mention of his Criterion Collection before this episode.

To add to what Gunde said on the issue, they also said in the future episode last season that the amber they were using the pushing technique on was of a different type (Category 4, Type 4, or something like that) that they couldn't use their normal amber extraction techniques on, which is why they had to develop the other method of getting people and things out.

The amber in Harvard was put in place by Walter 20+ years earlier, so it would almost certainly be an older kind that would be easier to cut through.
