Fringe -- Season Premiere -- "Transilience Thought Unifier Model-11" -- 9/28/12
Synopsis:
Spoiler:
13 episode final season. It's damn lucky it's made it this far. Can't wait to see how it all transpires.

Wow, I stopped watching some time back. That Synopsis sounds like a mess.

Yeah... It's a follow up to S4E19, not the season finale. Taking place in future Fringe.

Stopped watching awhile ago. That synopsis (and title) does indeed sound ridiculous. It's like they not only give no shits about viewers anymore, but are actively trying to keep anyone who would might even be slightly interested from watching.

Can't fucking wait.
It's right up there with Breaking Bad for me. Top 2 shows on television. You should go back and catch up.
And good for them. They're making the show they want to make for the fans and the show is better for it.

I just finished the episode and really liked it, happy it's back. Then I got suddenly sad that it's only 13 episodes and I feel cheated!

Nice Blade Runner homage with the geisha girl.
Nice start to the final season, should be a great ride until the end.

Great episode. Didn't waste anytime jumping into the thick of things. I can't wait to see where they go from here.
Your loss.
And why should they? It's the final season regardless of what happens, and the people that like the show are going to watch it, while the people that never gave the show a chance or gave up on it over the course of the last 4 years weren't going to tune in anyway.

Walter in shorts, robe, boots setting in a burned out car - great stuff!!!
So glad this is back, so sad it is only for 13 eps.

Ditto, but I find that on the plus side:
- the show won't burn out into crap (for example: X-Files)
- they know the end is coming and will get a chance to wrap it up over half a season, which many shows don't get a chance to due to sudden cancellations
I like the fact that someday I'll be able to look at my Fringe seasons 1-5 blu-rays and be able to revisit it as a complete story (assuming they don't do something craptastic with the remaining eps...)

Loved the music that Walter was listening to in the cab.
They took the easy way out getting rid of Henry Ian Cusic. That was sort of lame.
Was a great episode. Love that this is in the future.

Ok, so it has been a while since I watched "Letters of Transit." Was he the dead body the other two Scots were drinking to, or Etta's "superior" that was trapped in amber (mentioned by the loyalist guard later)?

I'm pretty sure he was the latter. Maybe he'll pop up in the future...

Great season premiere and I'm really digging the futuristic plot line. Etta seems to have great chemistry with both Peter and Olivia.
When Walter was being interrogated by the Observer, did anyone else notice that the music that he's listening to in his mind is the "Song for the Unification of Europe" from the French movie, Bleu? I could be wrong, but I could have sworn that's what he was playing in his head.

Yes I noticed that too, the music from Kieslowski's Blue. Coincidentally or not, last season there was an episode "A Short Story About Love". Kieslowski made "A Short Film About Love", an expanded version of an episode from his Decalogue.
A great start to the season. Once again John Noble shows what an amazing actor he is, all the more absurd he hasn't been nominated for an Emmy. That torture scene looked exhausting. So many notes to his performance in that ep.

Awesome premiere
Glad they moved forward in time and picked up in 2036.
at Walter calling Astrid...."Afro"
For a show that never seemed to get any viewers, I'm impressed that WB is still putting money into this show. The futuristic scenes are quite impressive.
I really liked the scene where Olivia was reunited with Etta. That was a really touching moment.
Looking forward to the next 12 weeks.

It could be. But they had a shot that sort of lingered on him for longer than normal, so I assumed it was him.
