Question about TV ep. availability on amazon

Hi all,

I'm very close to cutting cable altogether, and I'm curious if someone can answer this for me.

Specifically, How soon is, say, The Walking Dead episodes put up to by on amazon? I think its next day but can't be sure.

Anyone? Thanks.

Re: Question about TV ep. availability on amazon

It's usually posted the next day.

$2.99 for HD or $1.99 for SD (per episode) They usually have a 5% off discount if you buy the entire season.

Keep in mind though. Even though Amazon has a pretty good selection of network and basic cable shows for purchase ala carte, not everything is there. You will not find new episodes of HBO or Showtime programs like Boardwalk Empire, Dexter or Homeland the day after it airs. Also, there are some network shows that don't get posted either from certain studios (if you miss it.)

I assume in your case you would watch whatever network shows you like via antenna and watch basic cable stuff your interested in through Amazon.

Maybe this should be in Streaming Talk:

Walking Dead Season 2 is $22.99, or $34.99 in HD. Buying it as it aired, even as a TV Pass with 5% off, would've cost ~$25 or ~$37 in HD. Even if you're watching just a few shows a month, the cost of buying the episodes may be more than just keeping cable.

per episode I should clarify.

And yes, this question should actually go to Streaming Talk.

As Jay G just said, if you watch alot of basic cable shows, this could get very expensive.

Sorry for posting on the wrong forum. But also, thanks for answering.

I knew that premium shows would be held on to longer. Walking Dead is my main concern. Wife watches more network stuff that can be seen on Hulu. And we will cross that True Blood bridge when we get there...
