Lets Play Something Scary.

Ok so I've been in the mood to start a new scary game. Halloween is around the corner after all.

I need suggestions. I own and have played the Left 4 Dead 1/2 to death so anything but that.

I was considering Condemned 2 or F.E.A.R 3.

Give me some good ones to consider.

FEAR3 and Condemned 2 were both far less "scary" than their predecessors. I'd go with Dead Space over either of those.

Re: Lets Play Something Scary.

How about Aquaman: Battle for Atlantis for Xbox? Play an hour of that game and you'll have nightmares for weeks about how not to design a game.

Edit: On A serious note, I'll go with the first two Silent Hills, the first Condemned, or Dead Space. Also on an odd choice, the first Doom was quite scary back in the day.

Re: Lets Play Something Scary.

I loved the first one, but Condemned 2 sucks.

I'd also go with Dead Space. And if you've somehow never played it before, get Resident Evil 4 through Games on Demand.

I would guess you want to stay with the xbox...

spend 80 points and try out Decay...it is an indie game.

I loved the first as well and yes I played RE 4.

How is Dead Space 2 compared to the first?

Re: Lets Play Something Scary.

I agree there, I think Dead Space 2 is more fun, but Dead Space 1 was the "scarier" title.

Re: Lets Play Something Scary.

For 360 you can't go wrong with either Dead Space. I also think (but I'm sure I'll be in the minority) the first Bioshock is pretty creepy.

if that is what you are looking for,

http://www.deadlypremonition.com/

Looks like shit...plays like shit...but if you put a few hours into it you can not stop playing. It is amazing. I would imagine it is almost like getting the best blowjob of all time from the ugliest girl of all time...

and as far as atmosphere goes there is no equal on the 360...

BioShock, Dead Space, and Condemned all have atmosphere to spare.

Heavy Rain had my favorite atmosphere of a game this gen but that's PS3 only, and hardly a game.

Sample atmosphere:

I'm in the same boat. I'm going to start Dead Space 2 or Silent Hill Homecoming in the next week or so.

Why limit yourself to the 360 if you want something with awesome atmosphere? There are plenty of older games with awesome atmosphere.

If you like old point-and-click style adventure games, then Sanitarium and Phantasmagoria are both excellent horror games. Phantasmagoria is inspired by The Shining. The Thief series is dripping in atmosphere, and while they aren't normally regarded as horror games, some of the levels are definitely very creepy, especially in Thief 3.

All those games are available on GOG.

I read that Silent Hill HC is pretty bad.

I only play on the 360. I hate playing games on the computer. I have a Wii but I'm trying to get rid of it. So I limit myself to the 360 cause thats all I have besides computer and I won't use computer.
