Well, I guess I'm going to pick up "Revenge" here; I wonder if I can price match the lower Best Buy price.

Target ad for movies

@JohnIan, if you bring the entire Best Buy ad to Guest Services, they might let you PM. It really depends on who you ask and if your store's staff is nice. Never hurts to ask.

I'll check out the additional $7 titles in the hope of finding something good. I already have the four advertised.

Thanks for posting the ads.

I would guess the $10 coupon for Reven8e is a mfg coupon so won't stack with the $10 ones included in some of the tv sets that came out in the spring(Missing, Scandal, GCB). I see Best Buy lists the set for 27.99 so may have to use a $10 mfg coupon there.

Hope for as good a deal on Once Upon a Time when it comes out.

Is there a separate $10 mfg. coupon for Reven8e apart from the ones included in those TV sets you mentioned? If so, where do I find it? I didn't find anything when I Google searched.

Just the notation on the listing by the OP that there is an online coupon, which I'm guessing will be a mfg. coupon rather than a Target.

EDIT: cheapassgamer links examiner which links to http://www.abctvondvdcoupon.com/ for a coupon, but I don't see anything available on my browser. I would guess if someone does get it to work, it'd be the same mfg coupon as the one in the tv sets; however, I don't see it.

EDIT 2: Friday -- Now works for me as well. They must have just activated it

I hope it works.

I would like to use that coupon - just give it to me. Don't make me install software for it. Pass.

I got it to work. I had downloaded the software earlier for GCB, and once I enabled cookies again then the link brought up 2 coupons (one for the U.S. and one for Canada). The website coupon (expires 8/26) is a similar UPC code, but slightly different from the manufacturer coupon that was in the earlier 2012 ABC releases, so I'd imagine (hope) that they stack.

It would be brilliant if we could get this for $7.99 (+ tax) out the door (after a BB price match and the 2 coupons), but I'll live with paying more if need be. Very good show.

The coupon on the website now shows for me as well. They must have just activated it today.

Re: Target DVD prices (August 19th - 25th, 2012)

Thanks for posting about the new coupon. Since this is a manufacturer's coupon, technically nobody should be able to combine the online one with the one found inside past TV season sets as all stores that I know of have a 1 mfg. coupon per item rule. However, if anyone has any success using both in this land of YMMV, please post. I'm pretty sure Target's system is programmed only to take 1 of each type of coupon, so it would take a cashier override. Overriding a coupon for a few dollars is far more likely to happen than a $10 one, but you never know.

Thank you for the link to the Revenge S1 $10 coupon. Where can I find the $10 coupon for Scandal S1?

Re: Target DVD prices (August 19th - 25th, 2012)

There was an online coupon back in June for Scandal, but I don't know that there is one anymore.

There are coupons in some of the recent ABC TV sets like Missing & GCB that have a $10 coupon good for the following: The River S1, Missing S1, Scandal S1, GCB S1, Body of Proof S2, Revenge S1, Grey's Anatomy S8, Private Practice S5, Once Upon a Time S1, Castle S4, Desperate Housewives S8.

I'll be using the online coupon on Revenge and hope there is a coupon in the packaging that I can use on Once Upon a Time in case an online coupon does not appear for that show.

I believe the coupons become active the Friday before the release date.

Re: Target DVD prices (August 19th - 25th, 2012)

I went to three Target's during lunch. The first was already sold out of the Limited Edition, while the second hadn't even put them out yet (I was told that they don't have an official place for them with the large Hunger Games display taking up the usual spot for New releases). That store had 19 copies in a box in a cart (one had been bought earlier in the morning) with only 3 being the Limited version. I tried to use both $10 coupons but was told no, and that they had recently been told to crack down on that practice.

I went to a third location, which only had one Limited edition left, and wound up buying it for $17.99. This cashier was fine with the price match and one of the coupons, but apologetically told me that she couldn't accept both. Ah well. Good luck to everyone else.

The cashiers are all following the official Target policy for years which is 1 mfg coupon + 1 Target coupon per item. I'd never expect them to allow 2 mfg coupons on 1 item. My store had 3 LEs and 7 regular editions when I got there.

In fact, I noticed something new on the register as I bought both Revenge and a different qualifying TV season using the $10 coupon found inside one of the older sets. When scanning the Revenge-only coupon, it popped up a message saying to select which title to apply the coupon to (Revenge or the other one). The the generic coupon popped up a message saying to select the other title. So as far as I can tell, both are coded generically. I have no idea what would happen (or if it matters) if the cashier selected the other title for the Revenge-only coupon.

The mill creek boxes are on sale for $7.50. I picked up the Sci-Fi invasion 12 disc set. There are several others. Yeah, the quality is terrible, but there are some film on the set I want to check out.

There are times when cashier's don't follow their store policy to the detriment of the customer (one BB cashier even stole my identity), and ime there are times when the cashier's don't follow the store policy to the benefit of the customer. Ymmv and imo it doesn't hurt to try. I feel that I gave it an honest try, it didn't work, and that's that.

Glad to hear that you had both versions available when you got there. It looked to me like the LE's were going fast yesterday, though I went to a fourth location today and they still had 2 LE's left, so likely some locations were goling through them faster than others.
