Official Shipping Wars discussion thread

I don't know if anyone else watches this show, but I figured I'd start a thread to let everyone know Season 2 starts tonight. It took me a couple of episodes to get into it, but I ended up really enjoying the show.

The older couple has been replaced by a younger couple - otherwise, it looks like everyone is back.

I watch it. It's perfect nighttime viewing before bed, since it doesn't take a lot of brain power or investment. Didn't know the old couple was replaced.

I'm a big fan of the show. Glad to see cowgirl Jennifer back. But Roy is my favorite. He reminds me of a really cranky stubborn old bulldog I used to have.

Re: Official Shipping Wars discussion thread

I'm not sure I like the snipping cuts. It's one thing to cut away and have Brandi on Storage Wars bitching about Jared, since they are right next to each other during the bids. But to have the peanut gallery commenting on each other's bids when they are in different states? Come on.

And yeah, Jennifer is a hot piece. Hope she wears more Daisy Duke shorts.

Ugh, I used to feel sorry for Jared...but that kid is an idiot. Anybody with even a Jr.High level of physics knowledge could tell you that he shouldn't have loaded the statue like that.

And that new girl....+1 for her.

Re: Official Shipping Wars discussion thread

They keep Jared on there because he is an idiot... some people have the knack for this type job, some don't.

Nice to see the show have two hot chicks on it now

The running commentary is still annoying though... works better on storage wars

You kind of want to root for Jared, but he is so daft sometimes it is hard.

I like this show well enough. It's not must see tv to me like Storage Wars, but a good enough show to dvr when nothing else is on.

I like seeing the crazy stuff folks ship.

That new couple is amusing, and the girl is hot as hell.

I was surprised Roy took the Mays statue across the country because he has said in the past he doesn't like going west of the Mississippi.

I agree. That was nuts, but it was totally not his fault and he shouldn't have been given any shit by the Giants staff about doing that since he got permission twice to do it.

I'm not sure about the new couple yet but the dog is awesome.

That Lumberjack restaurant owner was full of it. He's bitching he's two days behind opening now yet there's a bunch of construction noise and a huge dumpster and port a potty still sitting in the parking lot.

Mounting the statue was really stupid. Even if the driver (forgot his name) is green, those guys loading it know better.

at Roy cutting the statue in half. Not his fault, but I would have asked the shippers if the Giants had OK'd it.

I hope they don't play up the jershey shore-ness of the new guy too much. He seemed alright, though. Hot wife.

This is at least the second time we've seen a shipee come up with an amount to dock for late delivery. Shouldn't the daily fine be part of the shipping agreement?

Re: Official Shipping Wars discussion thread

Tonight's was kinda nice, seeing Roy do that pro bono delivery. But other than that it was mistakes on parade, not to mention a ridiculous amount of breakdowns.

Re: Official Shipping Wars discussion thread

That was completely unexpected of Roy. Good for him. Obviously he made other money on the run, but cool to see him help someone out after being an insufferable prick most of the time.

And that, Robbie, is why you should leave the girlfriend at home.

Marc was one lucky fucker that guy didn't throw a shit fit about the rust on that car. Wow. Marc should've at least offered some money off or something.

Marc got sooooooo lucky with that hot rod. Personally, there is no way I would've accepted that thing. And Kudos to Roy...that was actually pretty cool.

Well like the guy said, it looked used, not polished. Anyone else get a major Larry Flynt vibe off that buyer? His whole entourage looked seriously skeezy.

As for the car, I'm amazed at how fast it rusted. That was incredible. He should have tarped the damn thing.

Re: Official Shipping Wars discussion thread

I just saw an old episode from this season that I had missed, where Chris and Robbie shipped a survivalist building and the guy kept hitting on Robbie, even though she was sick as a dog. When they delivered it, Chris and Robbie were still flu-ridden and coughing, but as the guy did his inspection, Robbie joked that the place had a few more germs in it. So I'm wondering if she admitted she and the BF screwed in that shelter while en route. That would be alternately hilarious and gross.

And Jarrett needs to find a new line of work. That's all.

Re: Official Shipping Wars discussion thread

Saw the new one last night and, I gotta say, I used to like Jared but now I think he's just stupid. While loading that carriage he says "I gotta pay more attention to the dimensions listed." No shit, Sherlock. That old dude was not holding back on him either.

This has past Storage Wars in order of must see for me. Less scripted, IMHO.

That old dude was BRUTAL.

Jarrett did score points with me for replacing his own starter, though.

Last season he came across as the likeable rookie trying to learn the business. Lately he just seems like a doofus - and seems perfectly willing to play that part for the show.

Re: Official Shipping Wars discussion thread

If he is playing the role, he does a great job.

If he's not, seriously, find a new line of work.

AND BUY A NEW TRUCK ALREADY YOU IDIOT!

Re: Official Shipping Wars discussion thread

yeah, Jarrett is a fucking moron. anything that could go wrong on that carriage run did go wrong. i do find it hilarious that people continue to use him and his cheap bids, despite his horrid ratings.

i also don't get why these idiots (jarrett and jennifer) keep taking on jobs that require special trailers, taking things apart, etc.

i also think chris/robbie are almost better on the show just commenting than actually shipping.
