It's actually nice they didn't try to go the obscure "cool" route with that list. Some of the major studio ones are pretty well done.
I always liked the slightly modified ones -- ie:

(which more or less works as the title screen as well)

Big fail--no Republic Pictures logo.
If I could find one on YouTube, I'd post it here. But I can't. They only have the fake one from Republic Pictures Home Video.
I can't even find a real one on Google Images. I'll have to do a screen grab when I get home and paste it here.

I prefer the 'Sunrise Over Earth' logo that Universal introduced in 1990 (when it first came out it was preceded by all the previous logos). Then they quickly changed it to the 'thousand points of light'. I thought it was some geothermal-infrared view of the Earth.

I've always loved these two, gets me all nostalgic:

New Line was already listed, but I like the newer one most people are more familiar with.

I believe the late Michael Kamen wrote the music for it.

Classic Tri-Star, Classic New Line and Orion were always my favorites. I don't know how much of that was tied to them being in front of some of my favorite movies growing up but any time I see one of those now I feel like I'm going to enjoy whatever it is that's coming up.

No Marvel one?

And while it is kind of a rip off of Marvel, I liked the old DC logo rather than the new one.

And I like the Warner Bros shield. Just not the rendition of As Time Goes By.

Just watched Outland on blu-ray the other day, had forgotten about this one. Between Outland and Blade Runner, that logo meant sit down for some sci-fi goodness to young Numanoid surfing HBO back in the '80s.

That article is interesting. The story that Lucas liked the 20th Century Fox logo so much he asked Williams to match the Star Wars theme to it is super cool to me. And they do seem to go together.

Re: 23 Terrific Movie Studio Bumpers
that is a pretty fun read indeed.
Seeing Carolco and Orion are probably the American ones I get REALLY nostagic for. The Orion logo I saw sooooo many times cuz of the RoboCop VHS I had. And Carolco for..well...the Rambo films, Total Recall, T2, UniSol, and Red Heat mostly. Again..the VHS era there.
Most recently though I've discovered The Archers logo due to the BDs of The Red Shoes and Black Narcissus...I don't know why..but I like that presentation a lot. Just something...classy about it to me. I dunno.
Out of the modern ones, I really miss the Paramount Vantage. It was good to know something good was going to be seen from them. Still dig the Focus Features one too. Really purdy and simple.

Every good movie of the 1990s began with this. Or at least Clerks, Pulp Fiction, Trainspotting and sundry others. Good times.
