I was looking around IMDB today, wondering why the only available version of the The Sting with Robert Redford and Paul Newman is pan-and-scan. IMDB technical specs say it was filmed at a 1.85:1 ratio, and they say that the German version has this ratio:

Can anyone confirm this, or does anyone know if this movie will ever be put out in the US at 1.85:1 ?

I purchased a widescreen copy of THE STING in Amsterdam.

You may want to wait on getting Sting as an import. They are reissuing the VHS in an "Award Winners" Series in the next month or so. I have a feeling a new DVD is around the bend.
