Iggy Pop & Best Coast did the song for the credits.

Why do all interesting episodes go less than an hour?

Tara and Jessica looked the best they ever have tonight, and I never thought I would say that about Tara. Good to see Russell back, and it looks like he will share a scene with Meloni, looking forward to that one.

Really, really liked it.

I wonder if Meloni's girl is the one who really unleashed Russell.

That wouldn't surprise me. I think this ep. is the one that was meant to kick this season into full gear, as almost everything up to this point has been set up.

I'm liking vampire Tara a lot more than human Tara. Somebody should have turned her about four seasons ago.

Yes, Tara was looking damn hot tonight. Any Tara haters that disagree?

A smoke monster! At least this one can start fires.

Did the shifter killers think they were killing vampires? I didn't really understand that.

Do Bill and Eric have a standing invitation to Sookie's house? Or does it not matter because Eric still owns it?

And shouldn't they have some silver they can throw over Russell? How were they planning on getting him back to the authority? I assume they would need proof that they found him and killed him.

I was looking forward to seeing if Tara haters would be able to give it up for her this episode. We'll see how the tide runs.

I actually didn't think this was a particularly hot Jessica. I've seen her look much better IMO.

Eric, I think when it comes to trying to kill a 3,000 year old vampire, Elvis had it right (though in a different context). A little less conversation, a little more action please.

With them yelling "Die Shifters!" I'm thinking no.

They killed Shiva! Now we're going to have a Sam raises the daughter with the Pack subplot.

I think they were using vampire bullets because they didn't know for sure if regular bullets would work on a "supernatural".

The invitation barrier doesn't seem to work unless a human owns the house.

I was also thinking of the GoT monster as well. This one also came from an actual fire as opposed to, well, you know...

I would mark out if at some point a White Walker shows up on this series.

In terms of the shifters, in the books
Spoiler:
it's at about this point that they reveal themselves like the vamps.
That might be the only real aspect they retain from the books this season.

I'm hoping he just gives her to white trash grandma. That would make more sense.

She looked better than usual, but she's still ugly. I do like her as a vampire more if for no other reason than when she starts whining and acting out Pam's right there to quell that shit. In previous seasons everyone just helped enable her bullshit all the time.

Who is Shiva? Isn't her name Luna?

I thought that shifters were pretty small in numbers even compared to vampires. How do these people even know about shifters to want them dead?

Any thoughts on Jesus' head with his mouth sewn shut appearing to both Lafayette and his mom.

I'm still waiting for a scene between Tara and her mother this season...

She was from 'the league'. So we all knew her as Shiva

Good to see the Smoke Monster found employment on a new show.

By far the best episode we've seen this year...took them long enough to find Russell...amazing how much life Denis O'Hare adds to the show.

Reading reviews/comments online I expected the worst here. But yeah, I also liked this episode.

I really like the "new" Sookie too. And poor Alcide!

Re: True Blood -- "Let's Boot and Rally" -- 7/08/12

I was already liking this season, but this was easily the best episode so far this year.

Now I may be wrong, but I think...
Spoiler:

...it was someone who Russell turned who freed him.

It was that whole Maker & Progeny psychic connection (something which has already been played up a lot this season) that told the vampire where he was buried, not someone talking.

Not sure why Bill and Eric haven't considered this possibility.

Shouldn't Jessica have wiped the floor with Tara, being that she's an older vampire by a few years?

How much older is she really though? Less than 2 years I'm guessing. Didn't season 1-3 take place within a short amount of time like a few months? And then the 1 year jump between 3 & 4. Season 4 was maybe a couple of months or even less. And season 5 has only been a couple of days after that, I think. In vampire terms, 2 years or so is a pretty short amount of time. But Bill did train Jessica to fight. I don't think Pam has taught Tara to fight. I'm sure that Jessica didn't really want to hurt Tara though which is probably the best reason.

Was Tara fucking Hoyt? Or just drinking from him?

Well Tara did become a professional fighter for a while didn't she? I know we all tried to block out that horrendous storyline.

Wouldn't surprise me but it sorta looked like that blonde Authority member who was always on TV. She's still "alive" right?

As long as Tara has speaking lines she will always be unattractive to me. That voice.....gah.
