Brand X -- New Comedy with Russell Brand -- Thursdays (FX)
By djariya at 2012-06-28
Brand X with Russell Brand features Brand's unvarnished and unfiltered point of view on current events, worldwide politics and popular culture. Taking on the news of the day like no one else, Brand uses his unconventional sensibility, spirituality, humor and status as a recently transplanted Englishman to get to the bottom of what the news really means.

So are we supposed to get the impression that there is someone under the desk servicing Russell?

I actually don't hate Brand in some of his movies but I caught this show after Louie. It was absolutely awful.

I like Russell Brand because of Get Him to the Greek. I absolutely love him as Aldous Snow, the soundtrack is great. This show looks horrendous, though. It's not a sitcom or anything, right?

It's sort of hard to describe. It seems like it's trying to be marketed as a talk show only it doesn't have guests. It's basically just Brand doing stand up on current events.

Yeah I'm all for graphic and outlandish comedy but it still has to be funny.
Thank goodness for Louis CK...

Brand is moderately funny but the first episode was bizarre and had few laughs past the first segment. He better change up the format very quickly if he wants to stay on the air.

I really wanted to like this but I don't think I'll be back for round two. I didn't LOL once.

This show has been cancelled: http://www.deadline.com/2013/06/fx-d...ct-with-brand/
FX will be making a "Curb Your Enthusiasm" style show with Brand though.
I'm probably the only one here who watched all of the episodes. It wasn't always good but was still somewhat interesting and different.

I went to the taping of one of the London shows.
It was being shot live and being broadcast later so we had a 3 minute ad break to deal with every 10 minutes.
This is where it got funny. The stuff he came up with then was brilliant. At the moment in the UK we have had a lot of sex scandels involving celebrities. He told a few names and we were shocked at 6 weeks later they all became true. He had the weirdest guests. I don't think that kinda helped. What was cool was at the end he led us all out into the street.

I kind of liked that show and it was different and it had some laughs and kind of liked him more after seeing his true personality shine.
