Louie -- Season 3 Premiere -- "Something Is Wrong" -- 6/28/12

Synopsis:
Spoiler:
Louie has a challenging day.

Some reviews:

Alan Sepinwall - FX's 'Louie' still unpredictable, and brilliant, in season 3

Andy Greenwald - The Return of Louie and Why TV's Best Comedy Isn't Really a Comedy

I love the episode descriptions for Louie. They are hilariously vague like some of the Lost episode descriptions.

'So buying a motorcycle is like SMART!' after that guy runs down the crippling injuries.

Loved the end with him laying there looking up at her like a pussy.

Hilarious.

I'll rate FX tonight like this:

Anger Management -- Ugh.
Wilfred -- very good.
Louie -- hilarious.
Brand X -- god-awful POS.

C'mon, a lot of people would risk a permanent limp for a $7500 ride and 45mpg.

The years have not been too kind to Gaby Hoffman.

The scene with the car destruction had me rolling. So matter-of-fact. Great stuff, all around.

But those Russell Brand promos! Is there anyone more infuriating than Russell Brand?! Gah!

Exactly - that's why having a black ex-wife make ZERO sense - it's not even a funny nonsensical thing, just random and kinda' stupid.

I like the the episode though - especially with the girlfriend continually talking, assuming things while Louie doesn't say a word to make her think the things she says - been there myself a few times.

Eh, thought it was ok. Also wasn't feeling the black ex-wife. Just seemed like he was trying a little too hard to be different with no particular upside. Really glad the show's back though.

Uh, Louie has never been big on continuity or sense. Remember when he had a brother and then next season he had two sisters and no brother?

Re: Louie -- Season 3 Premiere -- "Something Is Wrong" -- 6/28/12

It was pretty good. I when Louie's car was getting pummeled by the construction crew. And I loved when he and that other guy were mystified by the confusing scenes. The random stuff like that is what makes the show work for me. Plus, his standup scenes are usually comedy gold. The penis stuff was hilarious.

I hated the parts with the girlfriend. Gaby Hoffmann was annoying as shit and Louie was such a pussy around her. Honestly, I hope we don't see her again.

And yeah I was with the ex being black.

I knew Gaby Hoffman couldn't be as old as she looked b/c of her filmography. She's only 30.

I chuckled at the throw back to one of last seasons funniest lines ("What about Obama?" - Louie's response to his accountant when told of the bad financial times stopping him from buying a 17 million dollar home).

Gaby Hoffman was really good in this. She should be getting more work.

The GF scenes were very real and therefore very uncomfortable.

I kinda feel the way Louie does when looking at the "no parking" signs.

I loved how she just ground him down again and again and again. This show is hilarious to me because I just cannot fucking believe this unreal shit he gets put into.

Anyone catch his comedy show a few hours after? It was good stuff. Louis CK has become my favorite comedian.
