Good Will Hunting: 15th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray

Saw this over at Bluray.com:

Lionsgate FilmsLionsgate Home Entertainment will release a 15th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray of Good Will Hunting this summer. Directed by Gus Van Sant (Milk), Good Will Hunting tells the story of Will Hunting (Matt Damon, The Bourne Identity), a blue-collar janitor whose hidden mathematical brilliance forces him to choose between the rough South Boston community he grew up in and a new path of intellectual discovery.

Nominated for nine Oscars at the 1998 Academy Awards Ceremony (including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor), the film netted two - one for Ben Affleck (The Town) and Damon's original screenplay, and one for Robin Williams (Insomnia) as Will's psychologist and mentor.

Lionsgate's 15th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray presents the film in its original aspect ratio of 1.85:1 with a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track. The disc also contains the following supplements:

Two all-new retrospective documentaries:
- Four-part Reflecting On A Journey: Good Will Hunting 15 Years Later featurette including interviews with Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Robin Williams, Gus Van Sant, Chris Moore, and Kevin Smith
- Matt Damon Remembers Good Will Hunting interview session
Audio commentary with director Gus Van Sant and writers/stars Ben Affleck & Matt Damon
Behind-the-scenes footage
Production featurette
Deleted scenes with optional audio commentaries
1998 Academy Awards Best Picture montage
"Miss Misery" music video by Elliott Smith
Theatrical trailer
Behind-the-scenes features:
- The Era of Good Will Hunting
- Cast and crew spotlight
- Academy Awards: A Winning Season
- Life Goes On

The 15th Anniversary Edition of Good Will Hunting streets on August 21st.

Another double dip on Lionsgate.

No thanks. Already have the previous release. I'm just waiting for Good Will Hunting 2: Hunting Season to complete the saga.

Lionsgate is becoming the Anchorbay of the early 2000's with all their double dips.

Or Good Will Hunting 2: Apples and Oranges

GWH is one of my favorite films, so I will upgrade. Sucker is I.

Nah, I don't think I will be getting this movie. I saw the first one when it was first released in 1997 and it has been like a 1 time viewing. Not worth it.

Re: Good Will Hunting: 15th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray

Considering the way Lionsgate's titles tumble in price, I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't eventually upgrade the current Blu-ray.

At the right price, they'll get me sooner or later.

Re: Good Will Hunting: 15th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray

This was a decent flick, but not really worth a double dip. I don't watch the special features much (or at all) anyway.

I'll be picking up since I'm still rocking the Alliance BD release with 1080i and no features from a few years back

Re: Good Will Hunting: 15th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray

Well, that was a quick double-dip. The new features sound substantial though (quality-wise), so I'll double-dip.

However, with an SRP of $14.99, I expect this to tumble to very low prices within a year, so I'll wait until then. Or maybe a Best Buy Upgrade & Save. That would probably knock it down to something like $5.

Re: Good Will Hunting: 15th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray

I picked the current one up pretty cheap. Considering how cheap Lionsgate titles tend to go, I'll upgrade once this one goes on sale...

I like that plan--thanks for thinking of it "out loud."

Definitely may consider upgrading my DVD version. Seems to be a pretty loaded release.

Re: Good Will Hunting: 15th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray

It's on sale at Best Buy (online and instore) for $7.99 now. The new feature is 1 hour of retrospective interviews with Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Gus Van Sant, Robin Williams, and even Kevin Smith in HD. Supposed to be pretty good.

I think I will double-dip at this price, since I'm a big fan of the movie.

Neither Blu-ray is anamorphic.

They're both native 16x9.

Re: Good Will Hunting: 15th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray

For $7.99, I couldn't say no. Time to sell the regular edition.
